Minut - Noise, Occupancy, Motion and Temperature Monitoring for Vacation Rentals (Airbnb)

This unobtrusive home monitoring system is a quality product. It is well packaged, the product feels weighty and well made (not cheap) and is extremely easy to install. Once installed it looks very much like a smoke detector, but it measures Temperature, Motion events, Sound levels (measured in dB), Humidity and Air Pressure... and assesses any possible risk of mould. It does not compromise privacy, which is great!It connects to your home network via WifI and interfaces with an App which allows you to remotely monitor these measurements and sends you notifications should any customised thresholds you have set, be broken. Whilst it does not contain smoke or Carbon Monoxide monitoring, it is able to sense when your separate smoke alarms sound... sending you a notification to your App. You can configure multiple email addresses (classified as Friends/Family) in order of which they are contacted, should an alarm not be attended to/silenced by yourself. A good feature is that you can arm the device to detect motion (for when you are away) and it will sound an alarm and send you a message that somebody may be moving around in your home. The device also senses when it is removed from its' base, should someone tamper with it. Alarms can be set and disarmed by the AppBattery life is very good and a full charge should last well past 2 months (probably longer), before requiring recharge, which is done via a USB cable. The App itself is easy to understand and produces graph charts in App to view historical data for each measurement, which are plotted against time. For me, it's a great device if you have neighbours who unreasonably complain about noise - as you have data which provides information as to any unacceptable instances that may have occurred.The company offers an extended subscription service that allows you to store more data for longer periods of time, should you so wish - but the basic option will probably suit most applications.In-App Tech Support is also fantastic, with owners being able to contact tech support who are quick and thorough in replying to any queries about functionality or performance.

I purchased this alarm in April 2019 and it has been working perfectly fine. Main reasons for purchasing was multiple users can use the alarm and that there was ***no subscription involved***. No subscription was the main selling point to me, which after a year they have pulled this bait and switch so now I have to pay £7 per month to retain the functionality I once had for free. No subscription mentioned at all when I purchased and now it is basically a £120 paperweight as it is no longer fit for my purposes.I work away a lot so I rely on other family members to come up to the flat and check on it as well as the ability to turn the alarm on/off if they need to come in. Not really ideal for me to be the sole user and have to be the one to turn the alarm on/off when I could be in a timezone 7 hours ahead/behind.

Significant design improvement over the previous version. Minimal design that makes it look more expensive than what it actually is. Installation of the device is very easy once the app is downloaded that even non-tech savvy people are going to have an easy time with it. Data visualisation is very intuitive and insightful. The alarm function (which I find it to be the most important feature) works very well and immediately sends a notification once the alarm is activated. Another useful feature is the mould algorithm that notifies you whether the in-room conditions are suitable for mould growth. Since I'm renting and I had issues in the past with the estate agents claiming that mould does not exist in the property, I think this is a very good way of showing them what's what. Overall, a very good product with good value for money and a reliable home security solution.

Purchased this based on many positive reviews however it’s just not up to the job in anyway!Installation was a breeze charged with the supplied cable (do need to ask why it had to be different cable to most devices )Downloaded the app set up home etc... added my wife !Motion detection works perfectly fine in my opinion, although 45 second audible countdown seems a little pointless ! If I was a burglar I’d whip it off and drop it down toilet ! Alarm removed (but note app will update )As for smoke alarm detection tried several approaches none work what so ever !! The decibels show on app but no alerts on any mode - played sounds directly next to thingThe glass breaking as per smoke alarm does not work at all either once again used sounds next too and all over house through sonos and actually tried breaking a glass !! Didn’t pick a single sound up or alerted to it !!This thing should be named way off point ! It gets 1 star for ease of set up ! For everything else it’s not worth the cash! You would be better off with Samsung Smartthings for same money linked too speaker system!

Firstly, the packaging was simple and minimal, which is great and it took no time at all to download the app and connect up the alarm (the app itself is also sleek and easy to use).The device itself is quite elegant, and doesn’t stand out at all on the ceiling.The motion alarm works well with my phone (iPhone 6S) and notified me instantly when it went off during testing.It was easy to link up extra devices to my home account and they all worked just as well.Overall, I was very impressed and would highly recommend Point.

I ordered 2 units and one of them seem to have a defective lid. Not sure if this effects the motion sensor but the other one seems to be more sensitive.If only the quality control was better 😢
