Klipsch R-80SWi 8-inch 150W Wireless Subwoofer with High Performance Driver for Deep Bass Black

This compact, 150W, 8 in., down firing subwoofer is perfect for our music/TV room (20 ft x 20 ft). The bluetooth works flawlessly, setup was a breeze. The clear bass it produces is excellent, more than enough. It has Gain and Phase (0 deg or 180 deg) control settings.It's small enough to tuck into a corner, but don't let the size fool you. I've also got two subs in the front (L and R sides), with 5.1 surround sound setup. Combined with this Klipsch subwoofer in the back, with all gain and phase controls adjusted, it really fills out my room. (Note that multiple, powered subs can be connected using Y-cables out of one subwoofer/LFE port.)One downside: The feet are plastic with hard rubber inserts. They rattled on our wood floor very noticeably. I added insulation between the top of the feet and the case, and better pads on the bottom of the feet. No more rattling. I tightened the speaker screws, too.Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I added this sub in a large room expecting a just "OK" listening experience. I matched it temporarily with some powered Klipsch stereo speakers while waiting for some full surround system parts to arrive. The "kick" and rumble I wanted was produced at a level and clear sound quality that shocked me a bit considering the size and wattage of this sub. It comes with a very easy to set up plug and play wireless transmitter you simply plug into the sub output on your receiver or powered speakers. In my case the connection took about 20 seconds to succeed. This is well built and good looking in typical Klipsch style. Instead of the dual 400 watt subs I was thinking about for my new system I'm so impressed with these relatively inexpensive subs that I've decided to get another. I'm no audiophile, but to my "normal" ears these really sound great for the cost.

Wow, what big bass from such a small subwoofer! I have been a Klipsch fan for several years now. I have Klipsch in my home theater and in my den where we watch TV. So, when I decided to replace an old pair of Bose speakers on my computer set up I naturally thought about Klipsch. After a few hours of research I decided to go with a pair of Klipsch R-51PMs (powered monitors) because of the incredible connection options. You can literally connect anything to these speakers. In fact, because of the phono input on the speakers I moved my Sony turntable to the office and have rediscover the joy of listening to my vinyl collection! Even though these are amazing speakers, I was looking for just a bit more bass punch. Not to say these speakers lack bass. . . they don't, I just personally like the punch of the lower frequencies. So, I set out to find a smallish subwoofer and discovered this little jewel from Klipsch. It has a small footprint, is wireless and seemed to be just what I was looking for. What a surprise when I plugged everything in and spun an album. Wow, this 8" subwoofer produces really nice tight, punchy bass, especially in my small office. A nice feature of pairing this sub with the R-51PMs is that the speakers come with a remote that allows you to control the volume on the subwoofer. I slipped it out of the way under may desk and very pleased with the overall Klipsch set up. I 100% recommend both the R-51PMs and the R-80SWi!

Sounds good, hits the lows, just doesn't have much "oomph" at high volumes. I have this sub outside in my breezeway with a pair of Klipsch AW-650's, and it simply doesn't have the volume to keep up. I've ordered an R-12SW to see if it'll sound better/louder, but I will be returning one or the other.Note that I'm giving it 4 stars based on my expectation vs. reality ONLY because it sounds quite distorted at medium-high volumes with ¼ - ⅓ gain, and simply isn't playable any higher than that. It is NOT based on unrealistic expectations of it filling my back yard with bass. Most people will be absolutely pleased with it in a 5.1 setup inside, but just know that it struggles at higher volumes, regardless of environment.

Has great sound from a compact subwoofer! The wireless hookup works great. I like this subwoofer better than a larger one I have for a different stereo system. Highly recommend!

Was not sure what to expect with this unit because I was using it as a wireless auxiliary subwoofer to provide base to the opposite side of the room from my wired unit. I was blown away at the difference this speaker made to the overall base in the room. Very impressive. Movie effects are theater-like now. Many tuning options (phase, level, cutoff, etc.) to set it up as needed. Wireless transmitter operation is flawless.

Great value, sound nice and rich without being too "boomy".
