We turn our WiFi router off at night and it automatically comes back on in the morning. Would that affect my programs and timing?

Short Answer: Based on your scenario, you should not experience any issue with the device operating as expected. It will continue running without issues if you lose WiFi. Longer answer: I've done a bit of testing with the device with and without WiFi, because we travel with it. Here is what I've found. There are effectively three power states: 1) Powered On - Device is actively running light or sound. (Tap top to put in standby or switch to another preset) 2) Standby - Light/Sound is turned off, but clock is still running (Tap top to power on). 3) Powered Off - Device no longer displays clock or reacts to tapping. This may happen when the battery dies or by holding the two outside buttons on the bottom. If the device loses WiFi in states 1 and 2, the device will continue to operate normally. Your presets will be available as they normally are and schedules continue to run as expected. If you turn the device on from being in power state 3 and there is no WiFi to connect to, the only presets available will be the defaults that came with the device. If effectively acts as if it's a brand new device. Additionally, the clock will show no numbers. Once WiFi is available again, then the device will re-sync, your presets will be available again and the clock will display the time again. I find this to be one of the biggest failings of the device. I prefer to turn the device off fully when packing it from travel so it doesn't accidentally turn on en route and it causes some hassle with traveling to locations with no WiFi or WiFi that requires logging into a portal (like a hotel).

Can you adjust the brightness of the light?

Does the app allow you to connect a 2nd device? Id like to use this in both my son and daughters room.

Yes, you can have more than one Rest+ and control them separately within the Rest app. When you initially open the app, it will display a list of available devices to connect to and control. By naming each of your devices you would be able to select the desired device and then manually control the Rest+. Why doesn’t this have Bluetooth? I want to be able to play music during the day

The device uses bluetooth to operate the app, but it's not a bluetooth speaker. I'd suggest offering that feedback to their R&D people though. I did. Maybe if enough of us suggest it, they'll pick up the pace on making it happen.
