Q: Can this wire be hammered without losing it's tarnish resistant coating and the copper becoming visible?

I have hammered this gauge and others (18, 16 gauge) without the copper coming thru. I like the effect of the pings and never had to polish.

Q: Do anyone know what material and plating these wire made of?

I know that is copper plated with silver but I don't know what is used to make it tarnish resistant. It is a thin layer of silver.
