This grass is beautiful.
This grass is beautiful, I love the texture. It has only been growing for a few months- while the sun is mild and not beating down. So, it remains to be seen how it does in summer in California. It did sprout fairly easily with a great compost base, and grew in thick- with minimal water. I followed the instructions and so far so good. The blades are thin and grow up and kind of topple over in a group like Korean grass, but shade tolerant. You can hold off mowing for some time. It's definitely not your average lawn. I love the look.

New Lawn- Green and grows
Update: about a month in and looking super good.On day 7 and like clockwork, seeds are germinating. I’m in Northern CA and we are still in cooler weather for spring. Not posting a photo yet because the grass is just starting. Looks to be high germination percentage so far. I think it’s on me to keep up on my watering until the lawn establishes.

Takes a lot longer than usual to sprout.
I was going to return this because the grass seed did not sprout. Just about the time I was going to return it the seed sprouted and grass came up thick and beautiful! For some reason it just takes longer. I would say to just be patient.

Worst grass seed I ever planted
Worst grass seed I ever planted. Took 3 weeks before any growth and now at 4 weeks it's not doing much at all, barely a inch or so tall and very sparse. I usually buy Kentucky Blue Grass seed and I never had a problem with that coming in fast like a week to see it and then ready for cut in a moth or so, but not this stuff. I tried this cause I have a small dog and this is supposed to be more resistant to dog Urine and no I have not walked the dog where this grass is at all, but at rate it's growing I will have no choice in 3 more weeks to put down the Blue Grass again I always had good luck with.

Very satisfied
People overlook fall seeding. This seed did very well! It actually grew couple inches b4 winter set in and it's beautiful new grass green had my yard looking good early! I planted in October and it's now March, it has grown in all forms of sun light even the little to no sunlight where I had trouble growing grass.Ok I would like to add, yes it does need a lot of moisture to get going, but it is well worth it. It just keeps showing up now that my spring watering has kicked in. I had 90% germination from October to March but the other 10% is now here. I'm editing this because I am here to buy more for my back yard!

Fast germination, and a good variety of quality seed
Second update:Lowered my review to 3 stars. I got hit by another hurricane, but the grass was already about a month old, and unlike the last time I could not see were the seed was washed out. As it stands today about half of the grass is still alive, probably closer to 40%. The grass that is there looks thin, but maybe that perception is only because I'm use to tall fescue, but with so little grass growing, their are also lots of "bald spots". Hopefully the grass will fill in come spring, but right now I'm disappointedFirst Update:Things went south, but its not the seeds fault. I was hit by a hurricane. Anyway after clean up I needed to reseed. Why I'm mention this now, after just reseeding, and I'm still without permanent visible results, this is because the blend I received consisted of different seed, it contained:40% - Chantilly Creeping Red Fescue40% - Silhouette Chewings Fescue20%- Eureka II Hard FescuePer The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP), Silhouette appears to be inferior to Longfellow II , but Chantilly is superior to Cindy Lou. So it looks like a wash, but I mention this so others can take note that different seeds could explain some of the inconsistencies in the results. Saying all that, these seeds also have impressively fast germination.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Its too early to tell the full results but, impressively fast germination. The bag contained:40% Cindy Lou Creeping Red Fescue40% Longfellow II Chewings Fescue20% Eureka II Hard FescueI will update if things go south.

Easy overseeding with minimal prep
I had some bare spots in the yard so wanted to fill those in. Didn’t want to rent an aerator though, so I did the lazy man’s version… sprayed the area with water to soften up the dirt, spread seeds, and rake over itThis was in Atlanta in July where temps were bumping up against 100° so it’s hotter than the seed is recommended for. Even so, about a week later with regular watering the spots were filling in nicely. Just mowed it for the first time yesterday and it looked to be about 4” tall and very thick already. Will be overseeing a few more times over the next 12 months to get everything just right, but this seed is well worth it.
