Q: How will these work with shield. 40 mags inside a hill people gear chest carrier?

They will fit. My Shield Arms G48 S15 mags fit just fine. If that carrier supports molle kit then there should be no problem. I don’t recommend you hang them upside down; these pouches are friction fit but I would not trust them carried that way.

Q: How many Molle rows does this take to mount?

2, they are not quite big enough to catch 3 rows

Q: How well does a 1911 45 mag fit in one bif these?

It would probably work OK if you put two 1911 mags in each pouch. Either 2 single stack or one double stack.

Q: Will this for S&W 2.0 mags? Single and double?

I don't own any Smith & Wessons but I bought this pouch to use for my Glock 17 mags, they fit relatively snug but I kind of wish they were a little bit tighter. It can do the job for double stack mags but not single stack as they'll fall right out. Hope this helped.
