Q: What are the dimensions of the actual extension (not the packing box). Diameter of male end, female end, and shank in between?

The tool is exactly 12" from end to end. The female end is 1 1/4" X 1/2"..with an inside diameter of 5/16". The male end is 1 9/16" long and is hexagon shaped from the end. It fits into a 1/4" hex drill bit receiver. The shank in between the two ends is 5/16" X 9 1/8".

Q: What is the diameter? If I have 3/8" bit will the extender fit through the drilled hole?

No a 3/8” bit it’s not big enough. You need at least a half inch bit to clear the hub of the extension bit.

Q: Where can I buy set screws for this tool? A screw spun off in first use.

You have two 6mmx1 set screws 5mm long. You can get them at any hardware store. The next time you drill. Grind a flat on the drill shank, long enough to cover both screws. About 3/16 wide. For the set screws. Tighten good. You will have no more trouble.

Q: does it have magnetic holder?

No, there is not a magnet. It uses set screws that can be tightened with the Allen Wrench that they provide with the extension.
