A Truly Knowledgable and Skilled Doctor
I am thankful to be an actual patient of Dr. Fishman's, and can say that his yoga modalities have worked (for me). This book is great for anyone looking for detailed desciptions of specific medical conditions and the associated yoga work to help rehabilitate and heal those conditions. Because Dr. Fishman is both an MD and yogi, the book delves deep into both the medical information and the yoga modalities. Medical explanations, poses, variations, contraindications, helpful hints, etc.

Fabulous, Well-Written Introduction to Yoga for Health Issues
I thought with health concerns: herniated discs, osteoporosis, and rotary cuff issues, I could not do yoga. I was hoping to find a book on yoga I could do in my home. With Dr. Fishman's clear, well-illustrated book, I can. Already improved my range of motion with arm with rotary cuff issues.

Great resource! I instruct in yoga with a mission to help others find their way to healing as I healed through yoga. I know that Dr. Fishman is both a long-time yoga practitioner and a physician. I respect his work and find this book clear and helpful in my work with others. I only wish I had it sooner, but when the student is ready the teacher will appear. Thank you, Dr. Fishman

Yoga poses for specific problems
Loren Fishman 's book has been helpful to me in terms of the suggestions for low back pain and hip pain. I've recommended it to some friends who also have these difficulties. He gives good general information and then specifics on the poses that help. The photos are also good; probably they would be better in the printed version.

A Good Reference Book
This is a good book although some of the descriptions are confusing (like the recommendations for scoliosis) and would be helpful to see more diagrams or specific photos. Also, some of the recommended asanas are too advanced for beginning students of yoga and are difficult or contraindicated for experienced yogis with certain physiological challenges.

This beautifully written and presented book contains both practical and positive advice rich in ancient yogic tradition but supported by modern scientific research. A must for anyone needing help with aches, pains and many other everyday health issues. Highly recommended.

This book was one of the best yoga books I have read, as a yoga teacher this is an incredible book, though I knew and have researched certain poses for certain ailments, to get a Dr and yoga teacher to confirm the results of continued practice will improve certain conditions is just wonderful. Thank you so much, I totally enjoyed the additional things I have learnt from reading this amazing book, its great to get facts and figures and proven results, thank you - Nicola
