Ignore the ‘wierd’ name, they’re Still excellent!
I’d been looking for a new pair of speakers for a fare while. I first saw some Tibo Legacy 1+ on a well known auction site at £159.99, quite pricy so I thought they must be good. Now, bare in mind I’d been looking at spending some serious cash as I’d been looking at a new Rega Amp and some DynAudio Speakers, stuff like that and in that kind of price bracket. As I’d not heard of the brand ‘Tibo’ previously I did some research and read a few reviews, well actually lots, all I could find. Some good, some not so good, some saying they ‘Blow Up!’ and even the Tweeters pack up or explode!! Initially I wrote them off as a possibility, although I don’t believe everything I hear... I guess I should really say ‘Read’ and not ‘Hear’ when reviewing speakers. Browsing, I found the Tibo Legacy 3+ listed at a sale price of £69.99 on Amazon, wow what a bargain price, both compared to other sellers and for a pair of 150 watt rated speakers, so went ahead and ordered them. I thought I can give them a go and if not satisfied I can just return them. When they arrived direct from Tibo (quickly, 2/3 days) I opened up the box to check them for possible transit damage and to give them a once over. Firstly, no damage, good (sent in a nice firm box), then looking them over closely I was really impressed with the build quality. They are very nicely put together and not a single thing I thought was poor in the build quality, and I’m a real stickler for anything that looks cheap or poorly made. I really liked the Magnetic grills, making the front panels of the speakers look very tidy. With a day or two of delay due to moving my ‘Vintage’ Hi-Fi stuff into a new piece of furniture (Flat Pack Entertainment unit, that I had to put together) I set up the new speakers adding some adhesive felt pads to the de-coupling disks because of the new wooden unit and connected them up... I put on an LP and listened for a while, I thought they sounded okay but I couldn’t turn the volume up much as neighbour was in! I’ve now had the chance to try the Speakers out properly; first I put on the second London Grammar CD ‘Truth is a beautiful thing’ at a quarter volume on my Amp and I was totally BLOWN AWAY, the sound quality across all frequencies was amazing, very responsive and full of Bass, rich and deep and very defined Treble, crisp and very clear, they filled my room with very nice sound. I’ve now listened to several CD’s and LP’s across various genres, Simon and Garfunkel, Enya, Gary Numan, Rush to name just a few and the speakers sound excellent across all. I can’t believe how powerful they are for their size and how rich the sound quality is. I can honestly say they are superb and certainly worth every penny spent. At first I thought the downward facing Bass port was just a ‘quirky’ design, but in reality its quite clever, it makes the Bass resonate outwards from the speakers in a very rounded and enveloping way, filling the room with sound. The only draw-back with this design is you have to use the speakers with the de-coupling spikes. I suppose you could flip the speakers over, Possibly. If for some reason you don’t like or aren’t keen on this design I would suggest looking at a different model of speaker, I can’t see them ‘staying put’ if you placed them direct on a surface without the spikes in place, they would literally blow themselves around with the air movement produced from the ports. All in All, excellent! Great value for money, Superb sound and build quality and I also think they really look the ‘business’ too. The review thing asked me to mark them on ‘Thickness’ as hard as I can I can’t work out what this wants me to rate, so I’ve still given it 5 stars... Firstly because I don’t believe the speakers should be marked down on something thats isn’t relevant BUT also for who-ever included this ‘factor’, I’m giving this person 5 Stars for ‘Thick-ness’. I’m sure someone will work this out ;-)

Exceptional budget compact speakers that pack a mighty punch!
I purchased these Tibo 1 mini bookshelf speakers when they were on offer for £39.99. All I can say is wow, that's an enormous amount of speaker for not very much money. If you paid £150 for them youd not be disappointed. As soon as you open the box, you know these are decent. The cabinets and compact but heavy and solid. That build quality is exceptional. I think they look better with the magnetic mounted front grills off - see picture. Round the back, good quality binding posts that take banana plugs should you wish - no cheap spring clips here. They come supplied with spikes and protective disc feet to protect delicate surfaces. You need the spikes because the base port fires downwards - nifty feature because you can mount them tight to the wall for maximum space saving. They sound amazing. Every bit as good as speakers from.thr likes of Qaccoustics sound - I know because I also have a pair of those. The sound is full and crystal clear. It packs a mighty bass punch because the downward firing bass ports have the effect of using the surface to amplify further. So much so, if you place them on a sideboard, the acoustics generated might be too much and so you might need to use foam plugs in the bass ports to prevent the bass dominating. All in all, I defy anyone to find an alternative speaker of such quality for under £50. I don't believe you can.

Love them paired with micro amp. Down firing sub port and spiky feet make them very stable and tight
Best value entry hifi pair of speakers. First, got'em paired with smsl plus dac amp and heavy floor stands (speakers are placed their bottoms up as they have downfiring port, which now fires up and actually sounds softer and deeper). Don't get me wrong - you will get better stage and definition from a more expensive speakers pair. What I'm saying is you can get decent worth every penny sound with lows going lower than those £200+ ;) Now using better dac (DF red), smsl as just amp and taking time to position them (they don't like anything more than 2,3 meters apart - stage just disappears maybe due to my setup in the room) they sound very crisp, dynamic and persistent. What I noticed that they don't get my ears as tired as floorstander speakers powered by sanskrit dac and denon 7.2 avr. Instrumental music on medium listening volumes specifically. For loud music I prefer floorstanders. Update: After three months I started hearing distorted highs. It was really bad with MAC Pro original sound output powered by SMSL AMP. First I changed several power bricks for the SMSL AMP without any change as I thought maybe it's dirty power. Properly grounded everything. Even Dellppo power supply had the same issue. Literally every high above 2.5KHz would be sounding almost similar cracking noise like burnt speaker. Then I aded а Dragonfly Red DAC and now this distortion is heard slightly higher - I'd say from 3,5KHz. I do not want to continue using these speakers as my ears heart after half a hour of listening. I wish I could return them! Update as of 30 Nov 2023: I gave them a chance as kitchen speakers. Previously my DACs were distorting high frequencies due to me using them on 100% volume. With 65% on a DAC and just enough clean amplification they produce decent levels of sound pressure. As a budget pair of bookshelf speakers to pair with almost any tiny Chinese 100W*2 amp these are unbeatable. Go find them. Good luck.
