Good thought process on finance

Amazing book on finance.

Very good book, little tough to understand but worth reading.

Firstly, a little light about the author. George Soros is one of the most influential investor of our times. In this book, he has clearly described how he goes about understanding the world and the markets, in what he refers to as the “Theory of Reflexivity” and how his decision making in his trading operations always has an underlying belief about the potential outcome of events. The brilliant part is that unlike most other books out there, he uses non-technical methods to forecast the dynamic interplay between the participants of the market. For those who are history buffs, this book is a great interpretation of the political and economic history of recent times. The analyses on the conglomerate boom of the late 1960s, REITs boom, the abolition of the gold standard and its ramifications, Merger Mania of the 1980s are detailed and fascinating. The analyses on international debt and the cycle of lending using the Eurodollar market was very impressive. However, the most invaluable part is his trading diary which he maintains during the “Testing period”, in which he is experimenting his thesis and theory in practice all the while explaining his rationale and actions. It is a very informative and thrilling record of how the most successful macro hedge fund was managed until late 1986. May be i am a Novice to understand this , this book is too complex to understand , i tried and am still trying to comprehend what is written

This is my first book on Audible and I must say both the experience of being read out a book and the content was fulfilling.

Audiobook does not included all chapter Part 2 and part 3 is missing in audio book

the audiobook was ok, I think that is necessary to read this book or listen the audiobook (I've both) if you want to now something about the excellent mind (about trading, not even about the man..) of Mr. Soros.

Great. book

Ben Graham describes Mr. Market as an insane business partner who constantly quotes changing prices on businesses. Soros takes this notion and overlays the concept of Boom and Bust ...describing how good ideas become asset bubbles that follow a pattern ... During the Boom Nothing can go wrong and the crowd takes even bad news as good... once the bubble bursts the crowd takes the opposite view and even good news becomes part of the downdraft ... by recognizing this behavior one can take a position to protect yourself of profit from the dynamics ... also Read The Intelligent Investor, by Benjamin Graham
