The original in the GE oven lasted decades and decades. Then it went out. I get it, we use the oven a lot, especially in the winter. So, originally I ordered an OEM model paid 2x the price and it only lasted 3 years. 3 years! So, I took the gamble and ordered this at 1/3rd and it seems to be going with no issues so far. I will update this review should the model die even 10 years from now. Serious value, drop in replacement / compatibility, and the quality seems to be there.

This item worked perfectly, straight out the box and got my oven up and running in no time. I watched a Youtube video to see how to install it and it was very straight forward

The ignighter arived as described and on time. It has been installed for a couple of weeks at the writing of this review and is working properly.

I actually rent my house and appliances, so I could have just had my landlord deal with this. But I hate having people in my house, and while I wouldn't call this an "easy" fix, it was nonetheless very straightforward. I have a gas stove from the 90s (I think), and the igniter crapped out on it a couple months ago (shortly after which I found and purchased this replacement part). The old part had a weird boxy wire nut, so I ended up with the unnerving task of stripping wires that I probably wouldn't have been able to replace on my own if I'd screwed up, but luckily that went alright. On the downside, the wire nuts that came with this part were garbage (there are no metal threads inside, they're just plastic), so I had to take a trip to Ace Hardware for better ones (luckily they're super cheap, like $2 for a pack, and I had to go there anyway for a socket set because I couldn't get the old part out otherwise). After a great deal of trouble getting to and uninstalling the old part, I was able to hook up the new one and (after waiting for gas to dissipate, because I accidentally knocked open one of the burners for a bit lol) it turned on without issue and still works like a charm. Definitely felt really proud of myself for managing this job without blowing my house up or killing us all with a gas leak. I'm reasonably handy around the house, but I've never been very comfortable with plumbing/electrical/gas issues. But in the end this was a heck of a lot cheaper than hiring someone (would've cost roughly $300-$400), and less stressful than having to have my landlord and/or his workers tramping through my home and spiking my anxiety.

Just as advertised, was easy to install and all the parts were in the package.

Watched a Youtube video and got this installed without a problem. Drops in and works. This is the third igniter I've had to install in this oven. I think its a design issue with the oven in that it allows the igniter to overheat when it's doing it's job. I'm good with replacing it as needed. A lot cheaper than buying a new oven. Good value for the money. Obviously be sure to unplug or turn off the circuit breaker to your oven before touching the electrical wiring. Be sure to use the included ceramic wire nuts included with the kit for termination; there is a whole lotta heat going on in this area.

Easy install and works great leads were perfect length for reconnecting.

The igniter goes out on our stove every few years. This is a well made replacment but you do have to take the burner out and splice in the wiring so expect a bit of effort
