Product OK. The pictures are black and white, the whole book is B & W.Book has a lot of information for me as a newby inkscape user.But what a great program is Inkscape and it is totally free!

This book is useful for anyone beginning to navigate Inkscape. Includes useful examples and comments, with some good initial tutorial examples. Very detailed and helpful.

This is a good introduction to Inkscape. It goes through actual projects you might attempt to teach you to use the program.

A little hard to follow, but a good how to manual for a rather difficult program.

This book lifts the curtain and makes the advanced features of Inkscape available to everyone, even a novice like me.

I just got it today and was thumbing through the book. It looks like it covers a lot of ground well, but the whole thing is in black and white, not the color version I saw on Amazon's Look Inside pages. Thanks Prentice Hall, for not spending the extra $0.50 to print this in color. Geez.

This book was as ordered. I'm using it as a reference, so may be some time before I can judge the contents. However, the order was handled in a timely manner, as have all my other Amazon purchases.

If you want a dead tree edition of the online guide, this is for you. As others have noted, the illustrations are not in colour, but one gets most value out of this by following along with the tutorials - having a browser pointing at the online illustrations for clarity is not too difficult. Inkscape version 0.91 was released in Feb 2015, but this continues to be a good guide and introduction.

Good clear instruction booklet. Pity it only cover inkscape 0.48 and 0.47. I have version 0.91 so I have to adapt. Minor problem for me. Book arrived in good time and in good condition, up to Amazon standards.

I love Inkscape. It is very powerful. I just wish I was more proficient using it. This book helps.

A really excellent book about a truly superb open-source product. While Inkscape won't match the sophistication and ease of use of Photoshop, it will most likely do what the majority of website developer/designers need. If you have the big bucks for photoshop you obviously won't go wrong, but if you don't do all that much graphics or if they don't have to be done "yesterday" and if you are interested in furthering a very significant sociological advance (the open-source movement), get Inksacpe but then pay the money for this book as it will save you countless hours in learning, show you advanced techniques and best practices by the folks that wrote inkscape AND you will be giving something back in a meaningful way to the open-source scene and the creators of the program. The book is clear, informative, useful in the real-world of cranking out websites or graphics and well laid out. Buy it!
