I own a Schumacher Model SJ5 that I have owned for years and I have used it to jump everything from a riding lawnmower to a 3.8L V6 Ford Mustang. After 7 years of selfless service the SJ5 is starting to lose some jumping power. When looking for a replacement jump starter the Schumacher SJ1329 was a no brainer. Just like the Schumacher SJ5, the Schumacher SJ1329 is heavy duty and well built. The Schumacher SJ1329 is simple to use. Simply hook up the cables and start the vehicle. The Schumacher SJ1329 has a small push switch on the front to check the charge on the battery. When you connect the jumper cables to the vehicle requiring a jump start and press the switch on front, the battery indicator may go from green to yellow or even red depending on the condition of the battery in the vehicle requiring a jump start. This is totally normal based on my experience with the Schumacher SJ5. Once the vehicle is started the jump starter indicator will be green. Here's the most important reason to buy a jump starter and carry it in your vehicle at all times. About 3 weeks ago, I went to the store and then to the gas station to fill up my 2009 Toyota Yaris. After gassing up, I turned the key and to my surprise, nothing except click, click, click. Caught me off guard and a total surprise that my battery was nearly five years old. Thankfully, someone helped me, I got the car home, and replaced the battery. The point is that for most people it is so easy to lose track of time since you replaced your vehicle battery. Ever since that day, I always carry the Schumacher SJ1329 in whatever vehicle me or my wife are driving. The Schumacher SJ1329 is a reasonably priced fully functional jump starter for 4 cylinder engines. Schumacher is a brand you can trust to deliver in both quality and performance.

I bought two of these. The first one is great but the second one I didn't open right away. When I opened the box some one put a broken smaller jump box inside. It's past the return window so now I'm stuck.

I purchased this unit as a replacement for an older one whose battery was failing, which is to be expected after a number of years. This new unit has a strong battery, which easily started a vehicle with a V6 engine in cold temperatures (30's). It is more powerful and smaller than my old unit, and does not weigh more, and perhaps weighs a bit less. The auxiliary power ports ( USB, 12V) I found useful in the past, so having these was important to me. I much prefer using this for jump starting because it has a power switch for the battery cables and a reverse polarity indicator, which are good safety features, especially as compared to jump starting from another car. The power switch prevents sparking when connecting the cables to the battery, which can cause an explosion in some circumstances. My only initial disappointment was the short battery cable, which required that the unit be placed near the battery (the old one could be placed on the ground). It needs to be placed within a foot or so of the car battery. I do not see that this will create any problems on my current vehicles.

Haven't had a chance to use this yet but looks well built. No cheap plastic on this.

I love the product. Its versatile, easy to use, and seems quite reliable. My only problem is that the battery indicator never gets to "green" indicating "fully charged" though plugged into the power source for days! Otherwise, it works like a charm. Every motorist should own one.

Semble bien fonctionné. Petit format , agréable à transporter , peu encombrant. Les seuls problèmes sont : 1- Fabricant trop cheap pour fournir le cable d'alimentation. 2- À l'arrivé , un des supports pour enrouler le tuyau d'air était cassé.J'ai dû le coller.

Purchased this to start a dirt bike and seems to work well. Nice compact size.
