Completed this book yesterday, really amazing. I felt i was travelled with them. 3 years before i watched the movie The Wayback which one inspired from this book.

Amazing story of human grit, endurance and determination. A must read POW escape story. Takes you to the entire journey as if you were one of them.

A flat narration full of false assertions. Extremely faked up story one could write.

Bought this as a Christmas present along with a pile of other books for my relative. She has read and re-read this book and found it really interesting how these young men escaped a gulag and endured a huge journey on foot.

割とよくある話ですが、逃亡して歩く先々で、助けをさしのべる各国の民族の特徴が描かれていて、興味深いものがありました。また、狩猟をして肉は食べるのだが、野菜を摂取することの大事さに気付かされます。

What these men endured is beyond belief. There is no drama in this story… only the hardest truth. Strongly recommend to all and realize how lucky we all are.

This story was amazing. It showed what human beings will do to be free and masters of themselves. This group evolved into a family with trust and love as its foundation and shared the will to live through horrific body and soul abysses. Together they survived. I will carry away with me the knowledge we all have the fortitude and courage needed to achieve our dreams, small step by small step.

This is a gripping read, outstanding storytelling. Its so well told and I would forget it was a true story, amazing insight into what happened to prisoners in Russia in WW2. Couldnt put it down, page turner, amazing.
