Mi Box S Android TV with Google Assistant Remote Streaming Media Player - Chromecast Built-in - 4K HDR - Wi-Fi - 8 GB - Black

I am a disabled vet and as is the case with everyone, money is super tight. I bought one of these from a big box store and it was a nightmare. The first unit wouldn't connect to the internet, the replacement came with Android 8.1 & when it updated to Android 9 several components would not work (ie Google Chromecast & Netflix) and had to deal with Xiaomi customer service (let do this on the buddy plan- NIGHTMARE) but was repaired after a period of time. I decided that I wanted another unit but this time ordered it from Amazon. It arrived with no problem, this is basically a plug & go unit. As it came on it started to update, my heart sank as I thought please not again. No problem at all. If you possess no tech knowledge, no sweat. There is no learning curve at all, very simple to set up... umm maybe 3- 5 minutes. The options are literally unlimited as far as watching movies, live t.v., kid shows, weather, news, like I said unlimited. It comes with Chromecast, Netflix, & Google assistant which is pretty awesome! You can pick up the remote & ask: "What is the weather in ****", or "Will it rain today"? It will then tell you verbally and visually on your t.v. Lately, I have had ample time (due to COVID-19) to run the unit through the paces, I can't say enough positive about this product. You can get it for a very, very reasonable price too. I hope that this is helpful & useful for everybody.

I was kind of sceptical to purchase this box, I'm using Nvidia Shield Pro (very happy with it) and I needed another box for TV in kids room. Shield Pro was out of stock so took the risk and ordered Xiaomi TV Box 2nd Gen instead. It costs 1/3rd of Nvidia, has worse specs on paper... and it works exactly the same. We are using it to watch Netflix, Peacock, Prime and so on. Going through the menus is smooth, box is very responsive, and picture quality is great (I don't think TV box has any impact on picture quality anyways). For this price I'm very happy with the purchase.

It works! For some reason when I plug my Samsung 2T hard drive into my Sony Bravia's USB port, videos are incredibly choppy and it seems the TV is trying to constantly access and buffer the file every 5-10 seconds. Now, when I plug that same Samsung hard drive into the Xiaomi box and connect the Xiaomi Box to my TV via HDMI, I am able to play the movies perfectly. No stuttering, the files are accessed instantly and everything is smooth. I downloaded the Kodi app which has the ability to play videos encoded in Dolby Vision. Not sure if the Xiaomi Box does that natively, I will try that next. VLC is another app that should work great if neither of the two aforementioned apps work. Thank you! Edit: I tried playing the videos using the native Xiaomi media player and the file was not recognized (mkv file) so the Kodi app is in fact needed.

Good box but be aware that some Xiaomi services like TV+ are not available in the US

Pues la verdad es lo que esperaba, pues ya tenia uno similar y conocia las caracteristicas de dicho dispositivo. Y precisamente por eso lo compre, porque ya lo conocia.

It's not my first time I'm buying this device from this seller and I have had no problem at all, but There was a problem with the device, lately xiaomi I don't know what they are doing to the operating system but the device was defective it keeps restarting so I had to turn it I will buy new one

Very frustrated with MiBox4. It uses a google interface/launcher and for some reason google is blocking a lot of standard Android stuff. The play store on this device is a shadow of the real play store, only offering limited items. You cannot find ANYTHING Amazon related for this. Not Amazon Shopping, nor Amazon Prime Video!! I loaded the Prime Video APK from USB, and the MiBox still refuses to show it as an app I can use. If I could just replace this horrible google based launcher and use a good 3rd party launcher. *To make matters even worse, I went to the Xiaomi Mi Box 4 web site and went to their Support "Contact Us" and filled out a lengthy request, only to be greeted with an error, cannot send your message. I finally found the app "Sideload Channel" that allows you to modify the defaults google has placed on the home screen. And APTOIDE for loading applications google won't show you. Now it's cleaned up and has just what I want it to show, INCLUDING "Prime Video". Sideload Channel lets you customize the default launcher... it doesn't replace it. Now that I'm able to customize, I'm raising my rating to 3.

Es un excelente producto lo recomiendo la calidad del video es excelente la aplicaciones abren muy rápido y eso que mi velocidad no es muy rápida el envío fue excelente solo dos dias tardo en llegar

El equipo como tal es muy bueno, fácil de usar y configurará el único detalle es el adaptador de corriente es muy pero muy malo no se queda fijo en el contacto y se mueve mucho por eso lo doy 4 estrellas.
