MOLDY AND RANCID!
I have been ordering Native Pet Yak Chews for almost 2 years. Recently their packaging and labeling changed, and that’s when the product changed. My dog has been much less interested in the bones, and they no longer have the same smoked fresh smell. Last time I ordered, the lid was broken and the seal was also broken. The company didn’t respond to my complaint but the product didn’t seem bad so I kept them. This order, the plastic tub was not broken and neither was the seal. However, upon opening, there was an overwhelming smell of mold and the bones were covered in mold or completely discolored. I reported it again to the company and they offered to reimburse me and replace it. I am not accepting a replacement as this is an obvious health concern and has been reported to the FDA. Unfortunately, something has changed with Native Pet’s quality and I will not be ordering or recommending them again.

Brand new and covered in mold
Grabbed 10 xl yak chews for a great price for my two big dogs. They adore yak chews, but let’s face it, they are not cheap. As soon as they arrived I got them off the porch and opened up the box. Both dogs were following me in anticipation, they always follow me, but they knew it was something for them. I was proudly stating, you’re gonna be so happy, girls. To my disappointment I opened the bag and the foul stench of mold hit me in the face. It was a terrible smell that stayed with me for hours. Sure enough there was moisture in the perfectly sealed bag and all 10 chews were covered in mold. This is not my first encounter with Native and mold issues on their yak chews, but it was definitely the worst. I think it’s time to select another brand.

Not so much long lasting...but she loves them
I've tried various brands and my sweet 63lb 7 month Cane Corso mix honestly loves them all. These were the first that we tried. She really enjoys them. They don't upset her stomach. Not long lasting for her as she will chew through a new one (XL) as soon as she gets it, so it's an occasional treat for her because it does have salt in it and I notice she is very thirsty after. She chews on her (responsibly sourced) elk antler which IS long lasting when I want her to have a break from the salt. I do like that none of the yak chew goes to waste. She loves the cheese puff I make with the remaining pieces. It's usually a treat for a different day to again break up the salt intake. Eats the puff within a minute and licks the crumbs. Pic is of a brand new XL chew after about 30 min of her getting it 😅 and they are fairly big to start as you can see in the other pic. Also added pic of her elk antler that she's had for a couple months now. Chews it multiple times a day. Sometimes I'll stick the pointy end of the yak chew or her antler in a kong or ball so she can have a good grip on it because I dare not help her hold it when she is chewing. Struggling to hold it or not. I love her but I need my fingers 😭 Smell is tolerable. She leaves nothing behind to clean up 😂 She has no destructive chewing habits. These are good for redirecting new pups from your shoes and furniture. May last longer for someone else's pup. One of the times I ordered a smaller size there was one that was broken. I just made a puff out of the small piece and stuck the other end in a ball. Was a little annoyed at first but packaging is an Amazon thing not a Native Pet thing. These shouldn't be put in an envelope with no cushion when it's def going to get thrown around. Will continue to buy ✌️

Moldy yak chews ???
I’ve bought these plenty of times and never have I ever received an item that smells this bad or looks this bad, it looks moldy and just the smell is making my stomach hurt, I almost gave it to my dog but I knew the color was off!

2 labs love their yak sticks, varies but I find these long lasting, will buy again
There are very few chews that I give my labs. I feel confident giving my two labs Himalayan yak sticks because they are easy to digest and last quite awhile. I tend to feel that they are one of the safer options out there. I purchased the XL pack of three, which weighs in at 16 ounces. Yak sticks are often purchased. The price per pound is a little more than what I typically pay, but I like to try different brands and review them. Some are better than others, many are pretty much the same. This one stands out, and I will likely purchase again. Maybe a larger pack to reduce overall cost. I like this brand because the pieces are indeed quite large (they vary, but are truly a good size), and are quite solid and last some time. My two labs may take a few days to work though one. Sometimes they work on one for a period of time, take it down a couple of inches, then leave it until they feel like gnawing again. Sometimes I give them one to gnaw on for a period of 15-20 minutes, then take it away until the next day- basically to give them some chewing satisfaction without letting them keep at it until it is done... and so I can make sure they don't lose it somewhere like under a piece of furniture, or unbeknownst to me brought outside (my boy likes to bring a toy out to go potty, he usually drops the toy at some point and I have to retrieve it. Not a big deal if it is a toy, but losing a fresh yak stick is too costly to forget outside) My 3 pack of XL chews were all solid- nothing broken or cracked; looked good. I don't think there were any hollow spots, but I can't be sure.

Amazing, safe, natural chew, but inconsistent density
Having purchased these chews multiple times for my dog I have to say these are amazing! My dog absolutely loves them and I love that these chews are all natural, safe, and keep my dog entertained for hours. Turing then into a Cheeto by microwaving them once they get small is awesome, and is my dog’s favorite part. However, since purchasing these chews multiple times I can say that the chews are inconsistent in terms of density. Some batches are extremely dense, which I love, and take my dog hours each day over multiple days to complete, while other batches of these chews are much less dense and take my dog an hour to chew through the entirety of the chew. Considering the price, not cheap, consistency of the product would be great, which is why I am giving 4 stars. Upon weighing roughly the same of chew from different batches you can actually see the difference in weight from one batch to another.

Yak
I’ve bought these multiple times before. My dog loves the product but this time around, the Yak chew was a much darker color & actually had a very strong smell to it. We love the product normally but something was off this time.

My lab loves these chews, actually he’s obsessed with them.
My son introduced me to these chews and my dog is obsessed with them. There are only four ingredients in the chews and they are all natural. I limit my dog to one a week. I’m off to order more!
