Great quality spice at a great value
Smells lovely, tastes lovely, looks lovely, great value for the amount I got. Wonderful color. I've already used it for butter chicken, a curry powder, and keema matar, and this was so worth it for me. I find that most Indian or south Asian recipes adapted for Westerners call for paprika in place of this, which does basically work, but this stuff is fantastic and I think adds to the authentic flavor. Beautiful red-orange color, with a cleaner, more fruitier chile-pepper forward flavor than the paprika substitute. I put as much as I could into a glass jar to preserve the color and flavor as long as I can, and when I run low on certain types of paprika, I think this will actually be a great substitute. This is the first time I've actually bought Kashmiri chili powder, so I can't compare expertly to other brands, but I'm very happy with this.

Must-Have Spice For Certain Recipes
I wanted to prepare a dish from my Rasika cookbook, and it called for deggi mirch. At first, I couldn't find it, either in local stores or here, so I looked up substitutions I could use. Many said to substitute cayenne, but then I went to the cookbook and it said to NEVER substitute cayenne for deggi mirch, that it had a different flavor profile. Ugh. But, lo and behold, when I ordered tamarind paste for the same recipe, this came up in my recommendations even though it hadn't appeared in my search. I ordered it right away. I'm glad I did. While it does have the spice of cayenne, it added great flavor to the dish. The bag is not resealable, and it does contain enough spice to last for a while. I decided to store mine in a jelly jar to keep it both contained and fresh. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Good amount. Nice warm spice for the price!
Was looking for this Rani spice for my korma. I couldn't find this at my local vanilla grocery stores. It is a good amount too. It filled up a pint jar. Smells and tastes nice and warm with a bit of spice to it. Will work great for many recipes. It is just an all around tasty spice!

Great flavor but very hot
The package says "Low Heat". That may be true for people in India, but just a little goes a long way for my taste (and I generally like hot spicy foods).

Spice and color
It is a nice chili powder but not Kashmiri chili. The ones I had bevor were more red, flavorful and not so spicy, this one is more orangy in color and has waaay more heat.

Switched to this brand after concerns in the media over contamination of another brand. Great colour and depth of flavour and aroma when used in a Ruby curry. Excellent value and quick delivery.

It’s hilarious that they say “low heat,” because, honey, not, it ain’t. Low heat for Indian folks, maybe, but I find it quite hot. Still, I looooove this stuff. It’s fruity but spicy. It’s not like the smoky heat from Mexican chili powders, so you can add this to a lot of recipes. I use it in everything from my Berber eggs (like shakshuka but Moroccan spices) to my Israeli beef to my refried pinto beans and more. I will often use it in addition to my varied Mexican chili’s because it’s got a great flavour profile. I used an 85gr jar of it but I’ve lately begun using it so much more that I picked up the 400gr bag. Highly recommend. But brace yourself and add it delicately until you know how much you like. Great quality, so fresh, I won’t hesitate to buy more Rani products. (I also use their turmeric and amchoor and love their quality.)
