Keeping your guns looking in tip top shape before a new hunting season is important.
I bought the Birchwood Casey stain to redo my gun stock. This stuff works great and it dries up fairly quick. I highly recommend this product! Thanks

May need a couple coats
The stain is great, and the color is excellent for old rifles. Sand, clean, and have at it. Some of the wood had dark and light sections that took the stain differently- as wood does. After multiple light coats, they were still shades different, but closer in color. Would use again.

Easy to use, and looks good
Review of Birchwood Casey Walnut Wood Stain, 3-Ounce I didn't mix it 50/50, since I wanted a deeper walnut stain. Very pleased with the way my wooden cat scratching post turned out. It was plain unstained wood when it arrived. Make sure you wear gloves when using, it's hard to get the stain off your fingers. What I don't like is the long drying time, it took a good 24 hours before I could put the cat scratcher together. I've used Minwax Express stains in the past, and they take only 1-2 hours to fully dry.

Small project
This worked super well for my small project. Was easy to brush on, and I was able to use a couple coats to make things the darkness I desired. Clean up was pretty easy too. This is just a small bottle. Good for small projects.

I would not say that this is a walnut color.
Birchwood Casey has fanatic follower group, which believe that this is a top grade product. I decided to give it a try. I can say that it is OK, but not great. Reason? it says this is "concentrated solution, dilute with water". I've applied to wooden board it without dilution, and it is still very light, and not exactly walnut color (check left side on the uploaded picture). On the right side, I've applied Meyer brand walnut stain. As you can see, it is much richer and true to life color, compared to Birchwood stain. One thing is great that this was a cheap can, so I didn't lost too much, but lesson learned for future for sure.

Stain
Worked ok would recommend

Hard lumps
The stain had started polymerizing with large hard chunks that needed to be strained out leaving barely enough stain for one pass. This would be expected in maybe an older opened bottle but the bottle was completely sealed with the foil intact.

This stain is great. I wanted to restore a gun that a friend of mine had gifted to me but wasn't sure what colour I wanted to stain the gun. after watching a few youtube videos on this product and how to apply it due to I didn't want to stain my gun a colour that I didn't like, I decided to buy this product. This stain worked out great, my gun turned out looking great, I was very happy with the colour. The shipping wasn't fast put it wasn't amazon fault after a quick call to their Customer Support they shipped out another bottle and I had it in a few days. I bought the BW Casey Gun Stock Clear Sealer & Filler at a local gun store to put a finish touch on my gun and that also worked out great. A great line of products.

Ive used this on gunstocks before, but most recently on a mahogany guitar, good stuff! it is water based so it doesnt penatrate as well as a minwax stain, but you just need to apply more coats and the bonus is its not sticky and clean up is easy.

It is much better than those stains you buy at the hardware . This stain will penetrate much better and have a nice color.

I wanted to stain some drawers I had and this did exactly what I wanted it to do. I added a little water to it to lighten the color. Amazing item.
