Honeywell QuietSet Whole Room Tower Fan-Black, HYF290B

Looks very stylish in a room, cools well and is super quiet compared to a normal fan. Can easily watch tv at normal volume and it doesn't distract from the tv.

As described keeps you nice and cool and can cause vibration and hear it in the room underneath a bedroom due to being placed on a carpeted room but Quickly solved buy using a small square foam gym mat so no more vibration defo worth the money.

Nice and quiet for the bedroom. However compared to a different make we bought on Amazon the breeze is a bit lower specially during these warm days

Thank god we purchased this! We have a one bed flat and new kittens so can't open the windows much. This fan has been a god send, especially on hot nights!

Love the product, however the wire at the bottom doesn't seem to want to stay in were the wire should stay and have to keep putting it in where it should be. However excellent product.

Lots of positives for this fan. Tall, slim, stylish and convenient remote storage. On a warm evening with background noise, it would be unobtrusive with a decent airflow - unfortunately and the reason why I bought it. It's not the quietest fan for use in the bedroom. The problem is is that, in sleep mode (up to level 3), the noise of the airflow is quite pleasant and from a cooling point of view is acceptable. Unfortunately, if you use the oscillate function. The noise from the gears (though not loud) do become quite irritating. And if you don't use the oscillation then the fan itself generates a low level resonance. Which is distracting rather than annoying. Not really what you would expect from a £60.00 fan. Also (this is being a little picky) the difference between the eight speeds are so nominal. Four would be fine. Plus the dim-able light is a gimmick. Even at it's full brightness it is not intrusive. They should have cut back on the features list and invested a little more in solid bearing mounts and silent oscillation gearing. If you are interested in this type of fan, I would suggest one with fewer airflow setting and maybe not as tall (will ease the issue of fan resonance)

THIS IS A FAN SET TO 12OVOLTAGE OF THE US. Now, normally with toothbrushes and smaller things like other fans, this is ok. However, this fan was not sent with a converter and when we used my top quality converters (I am a DUAL citizen), the converter blew, the fan blew and the house electrics all blew. There was a hell of a pop considering the size and a lot of burnt electrics and smoke. I am ABSOLUTELY APPALLED THAT AMAZON WOULD ALLOW THIS TO BE LISTED ON A UK SITE WHEN WE OPERATE AT 250V. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE MENTION ON THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION REQUIRING 120V ONLY. I would like these products REMOVED, AN APOLOGY MADE AND A CALL FROM THE HEAD OF AMAZON UK. MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW IS QUITE SENIOR WITH AMAZON IN LA. WRONG PRODUCT FOISTED ON UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS IN WRONG COUNTRY TO VERY DEFINTELY WRONG PERSON. NO CALL/CONTACT = MY LAWYER. A PERSON WAS BURNT.

Don't usually write reviews. I had to for how bad this product is. The air flow is great. That's the only good thing. It's so damn loud even in sleep mode constant rattling when it's oscillating regardless of the fan power level. The only remedy is to turn the power on lowish and stop it oscillating. Even then it's still damn loud. If you're buying this for it be quiet don't bother. Update: reduced to 1 star. The sound became so much worse. Stopped using it went back to old fan instead.

To begin with, no fan is a substitute of an AC system, those that use one need to understand thermodynamics, AC units remove the heat from the room and have super-cooling methods that wouldn't be used in a fan. To get air OUT of a room, you need an exit, an open door, window, etc. I use mine in support of our AC unit, which is all the way in the living room (and struggles to reach my room). Fans are mainly intended to keep the air circulating, but by doing so also slightly (but noticeably in enclosed environments, far more than in open) increase the temperature as a byproduct. However, fans do make it more bearable, and make a significant difference when centered onto the person in question. It's a rather quiet, and tall fan, as opposed to the arguably much stronger, less efficient, and louder box fan that I used to have. This fan does rotate, has multiple settings including ones (that at the lower levels) are little more than white noise, meaning it can be used to give a slight cooling sensation, without being overwhelming, while also staying just loud enough to drown out the disturbances of the night, an owl hooting at an odd hour, birds flying around, etc. Is it perfect, no, in my case my bed happens to be too tall (which I had just set up a day prior to receiving the fan) to make the full use of the fan at night, however the white noise helps with sleeping, and it still does keep a good deal of the heat off at night. I would recommend it to someone who understood what they were looking for in a fan, and what they would be getting. If you are looking for a fan, not an AC unit, this is something that I would recommend.

Der Honeywell Turmventilator verfügte weder über einen deutschen Netzstecker, noch war ein CE-Kennzeichen zu finden. Erstaunlich, dass so etwas in der EU überhaupt verkauft wird.

This was my 1st purchase of the newer style fan (older style being the caged, rotating 3-plastic-blades with base controls). I wasn't disappointed, & subsequently bought a 2nd one. The fan does its job very well & because of the height, provides a wider area of coverage than the older style. It also lives up very well to its claim for being quiet. The Sleep mode is extremely quiet, but at a price -- the airflow is so minimal that it doesn't help much unless it's almost right in your face. The remote is a nice addition & works well. My only real beef is with the base. It's awkward & clunky & there's just a TINY space at the very bottom to run the cord through. Whenever I move the unit, the base just doesn't feel stable (it's never come off though), & the cord seems to hate being confined to that tiny hole. That aside, though, generally I'm very happy with this fan & have no regrets for "changing over" to this style. Very good product which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
