This is easily the best alternative set you can get affordably. People who are into classic army men know there are only a handful of brands really putting effort into their molds, and they're expensive/less accessible. It's not like the army men peak where even the generic stuff looked good. Pros: -High detail. It's better than some of the products offered in big name sets, and you can easily tell the nations apart thanks to gear looking just how it should. There are even different faces on each pose. I have tabletop miniatures that don't have as much detail. -You get 50 troops for each side in a variety of poses. 47 for Japan. -There are some unique poses I haven't seen before that add a lot of charm to the set. -There's a decent variety in equipment represented on each side. Most of the staples people think about are here. Cons: -US troops mostly have garands, flamethrowers, bazookas, and a couple m1919s. There's one M3. I was a little disappointed the British got all the Tommies, and BARs aren't in the set at all despite being so iconic. -US troops have slightly less detail. They're not bad at all, and they beat all but 2 other options on Amazon that certainly don't offer as much value, but they're still just a little less detailed. -There aren't more sets. I'd love if these guys came out with another similar set or two with different poses/gear, or a maybe do a set with a different mix of WW2 factions. It just kinda sucks it's a one-and-done deal when the quality is so good. I'd say this is the perfect set to get started with a collection in a modern world where 99% of the other figures look horrible. Then, fill in the gaps with figures from the bigger brands.

Wow. These are just awesome. It seems though the Brits have the best detail for some reason and Americans the least. But all are excellent. All of them look awesome....each army has different poses, weapons and outfits. I cant say how historically correct they are but I can say I can tell which are what army even if they were not color coded. Each have distinct weapons. Huge variety in poses, weapons and among the different armies. The Bagpipe Brigade looks awesome and I have never had any of those....death by bagpipe. The Japanese army has swords too. The German machine gunners are awesome. U.S. flame throwers are always my favorites. Figures are very detailed and bulky, not thin. All stand well and I only had one broken gun tip. No problem. They are not soft and are not brittle either. Nothing is flimsy. Probably no fun to step on. I included several pictures so you can see this huge lot and some details. Highly recommend for all ages. A+

Lots of cool and colorful looking soldiers. They soldiers are very rich in detail. Lots of amazing and animated poses as well. I wish that there's more of them being sold here or elsewhere, because these soldiers are really nice-looking and durable. And they are affordable as well!

The quality of these plastic toy soldiers exceeded my expectations! The sculpts are more detailed and sturdier than the ones I played with as a kid 40 years ago. This set features soldiers from four countries and they did a nice job making each army unique and having a large variety of poses. Although all the soldiers are packed in tight, I only had one soldier out of the whole batch with a bent piece (a gun barrel that snapped off when I tried to bend it back). Great quality item and makes a great gift for a kid.

HIGHLY IMPORTANT: I'd really like to see these made out of a biodegradable, non-toxic cellulose based plastic instead of a petroleum based plastic. Pretty good quality, some of parts that are skinny (German guys laying down with bipod machine guns) are already bent/broken... but then again they've been scattered all over a young boy's bedroom floor and getting stepped on. It's also a lot of army guys for a pretty reasonable price.... megafun to set up outdoors too... A nice level of detail too, but still not as good as some of the ones my friend brought home from a trip to Europe when I was a wee lad back in the 80's. It's really cool to see the historical and national differences in uniforms, weapons, helmets, etc...

Great toy for little guys for stocking stuffers or Christmas present.

The Detail of every Soldier is pretty good. The Soldiers are great for stop-morion because they mostly have the same uniforms. Also the sizes are close to Tim Mee soldiers! The duribility is fine. I just had 1 broken rifle for the Green army. Overall the set is pretty good.

We had a couple sets of the WWII American and German soldiers growing up. They were always of better quality than the modern / Vietnam-era army men that you can buy in your typical toy store or grocery aisle. These soldiers are taller and beefier than the latter for sure. This set even included British and Japanese soldiers, something I haven't seen before. All arrived in excellent condition and molded in the correct color. Awesome set of army men, worth every penny. Solid construction and I would recommend to a friend, 100%. Update: As some others have said, there is a lot of variation as far as the number of soldiers you get in specific poses, so there's always the risk that you'll only get one soldier in one pose and ten in another, but with these guys, that's definitely a risk worth taking.
