Great family game for the summer!
This game is so much fun. I remember playing this when I was a kid. The quality is good and the size is perfect. It come with a traveling pouch so it's easy to carry. The design is nice and the price is reasonable.

Fun for the grandkids
Bought to use during ‘Cousin Week.’ The grandkids enjoyed the game and got it out again during Thanksgiving. Good quality.

Needs improvement
The wooden croquet poles and heavy balls are great. However the wire wiquets need to be improved. The ends need to be sharper and heavy duty since they won't work on artificial grass and/or dirt. I had to use long nails and then attach them to the nails using zip ties.

Family and Friends will enjoy
All the pieces have been durable over the outdoor game season. Easy to set up and bag makes it easy to clean up and take anywhere. Size of mallets good for school age children and grownups.

Perfect for the price
Most reviews that I read previous to buying this item mentioned problems with the carrying bag and putting the mallets back into it. I ignored this completely because I would probably never go traveling with a croquet set. It was always meant for me at my home only, and I would be storing the carrying bag in a closet for probably many years. When it arrived, I set it up in the backyard, and my wife who had never played before agreed to play a game. I grew up on croquet, and my last game was exactly 60 years ago, give or take a year. We played an entire game, and I won. I had the chance to maul her in the beginning, and it worked off of my foot the same way it did 60 years ago. The balls are not wood but some kind of medium lightweight plastic that is pretty close to the real wood ball. The mallets (6 of them) are wood and worked just like the ones I used 60 years ago. The wickets are solid metal and work fine, all 9 of them. (If you lose one, they are easily fabricated with a coat hanger, or some other wire like bailing wire or electric fence wire.) The two posts are solid wood and hammered easily into the dirt. The sets I looked at and read reviews of were priced between $29 and $145. The one I bought costed me $42. The higher-end priced ones did not seem to have anything more to offer than the lower-end ones. There are plenty of sets out there for sale for anyone to explore and do research on. My buying strategy has pretty much been to get the best product for the lowest price -- pretty basic stuff. I don't know what those $145 sets have that are better than the one I bought for $42, but I really have a feeling that paying 3.2 times what I paid is not going to get anyone a better product. There could be many more sellers out there in the $30 - $40 range that have just as good a product. I just don't know. However, I do know that this croquet set is exactly what I hoped it would be.

Not what I hoped for...
The plastic ends came apart after the first few games. One shaft cracked. I was disappointed with the quality of the product.

Good quaility with a nice carry bag.
The set is great for taller people so you don’t have to bend over as much.
