Great Product, Easy Installation
My husband had this hooked up to the old tv in his office shortly after it arrived. This is a really great product for those of you who don't want to invest in Smart tv like us. It works great & you can't beat the price. I'm grateful that I won't have to watch anymore of his war documentaries. LOL! Thank you, Amazon!!!

Great device
I plugged this device into a power cube and my Roku device on a 15+ year old TV. The Roku works perfect. The plug was flawless and well worth the price.

Comes with a lot of wires but has everything you need!
I got this converter because I have an old minivan that has a screen in it that we used to play DVDs off of but wanted to be able to hook up my phone to for long drives and road trips. I had a lightning connector to HDMI adapter and figured I could get this and connect the two! The positive is that it works and as long as you have a basic understanding of cables you can set it up pretty easily. It does come with a lot of cables and you have to hook everything up yourself but it’s kind of self explanatory. Basically, hook up the RCA cables to the monitor/TV and then plug in the HDMI to whatever device you want to project. Make sure that you plug in the power as well or else it won’t work! The picture quality was okay, obviously not HD but I didn’t notice any picture degradation. The nice thing about this product is that it came with everything that you need to set it up. It even came with a HDMI cable! Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase because it worked for me and now I can play videos off my phone into the screen in my minivan. You definitely need a very specific reason to buy this but it works well and I have no complaints! If you thought my review was helpful, please click below! Thanks!

Works great - be sure you get the right converter type as these convert in one direction only
I needed to connect an HDMI TV-'stick' to a video player which didn't have such an input. I got this and it works beautifully. I just plugged the video stick onto it and USB power to both the stick and the converter, then one video RCA connector and two for audio and I'm up and running. Just be sure when you order that you get the proper converter - some look identical but are meant to convert RCA to HDMI. These devices don't work in both directions; you have to get the right one for what you need. Recommended!

Should work great for my old tv with the Roku. Can always find what I need on Amazon. Great price too.

Beware of compatibility expectations
Works well! The only issue is that it doesn’t work with apps we frequently use and it doesn’t say that anywhere. YouTube works great.

Roku to DVR - No HDCP Issues! Edit: Audio Distortion but seller stood behind his product
I bought this unit to allow the HDMI output of my Roku 3 to connect to the video/audio inputs of my old Toshiba RD-XS32 DVR/DVD recorder. I haven't had an analog TV for years but the old Toshiba DVR still works fine after literally thousands of hours of recording to its hard drive. This DVR is old-school analog 480i TV before everything went digital. Now, I'll put up with a sensible amount of advertising, but some of the streaming services have gotten ridiculous with the quantity of ads interrupting the program content. (I'm looking at you, HxxU.) Recording a program for later viewing with the aid of the FF button certainly makes it more appealing. I was a bit concerned whether HDCP would prohibit passing the HDMI signal from the Roku, but so far I've had no problems at all. Probably because I'm in the analog world at the DVR input thanks to this Dingsun HDMI to RCA Converter. No doubt the same would work for those that still have a VCR...if there are any of those left and working, ha! Yes, the picture out of the analog converter is crummy compared to what we're used to with HDTV. But hey, we all lived with Standard Definition picture quality for most of our lifetime until HD came along. Until someone comes up with a modern DVR that has an HDMI input, I'll live with this solution. I have already taken care of OTA broadcast TV recording with the purchase of a Tablo DVR from Amazon; an amazing device that provides full HD picture playback of local TV broadcast. If only the Tablo had an HDMI input connector...that would be the dream! In the meantime, the Dingsun HDMI to RCA Converter allows me a degree of flexibility. EDIT: A few weeks later and now I'm disappointed. I noticed that the audio was starting to distort when the device was left powered up for more than a day. It sounded like a capacitor or amplifier stage was becoming non-linear. Momentarily removing power and then plugging it back in corrected the distorted audio for a while. But now the audio appears to be distorted all the time and restarting it isn't working. So it's useless. I'll try and contact the seller for a remedy but I can no longer give this a 5 star rating. EDIT 2: I contacted the seller and explained the audio problem. He promptly provided a refund to me. So while I may have had an issue with the unit, the seller was a good. I'll order another one and hope for better luck this time. I'll move the rating up to 4 stars.
