GV Central Vacuum Kit with Power Head 35 Foot Hose and Tool Kit - Universal Fit for Central Vacuum Unit System

The vacuum kit arrived promptly, was exactly as described, and works wonderfully! Most importantly I am SO impressed with Great Vacs customer service as I contacted them regarding my brush head not moving and my wand not quite fitting into place. I should note that I never, ever contact manufacture's about anything. So, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. They were so nice, and so quick with their response. First, I only needed to press the reset button to get the brush head moving again (duh!). And they offered to send me a second wand immediately (even though I was assured it is supposed to be a tight fit). I have had central vac for the last 12 years, and most recently in my new house which required I get a system like this (with the separate hose/electrical attachments instead of an electrically pronged hose head I was used to). I am very happy with this product and would definitely purchase it again!!!

The only thing good about this item is the hose length. Everything else is very cheaply made. The attachments look like toys. The "high end" carpet head is almost impossible to push across quality carpet no matter the height setting. Sure the price is great but nothing else is.

I like having the 35 foot hose it makes it easier to vacuum the whole house without having to move it three times. The vacuum head works great on some carpets but it is also hard to push on some carpets even at the highest setting. The suction is great.

When it came time to replace our worn out original NuTone central vac kit, I couldn't believe the price of a replacement kit! A quick search for alternatives led me to this kit. At less than half the price of the NuTone kit, I figured I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did. Went with the 35 foot hose, as our old 30 foot hose always seemed a tad short. At first, the unwrapped hose worried me, but after a month of use, so far so good. The power scrubber attachment seems great, and definitely is doing a good job so far. Other attachments seem fine also. So far, no regrets!!!

Fire hazard! It’s crap. Plastic on main unit broken within 3 months. After 8 months the power stopped working consistently. After 9 months the wire near the wall started on fire! Find something else this thing is cheap looking and in practice just not high quality. Not even medium quality. The height selector jams constantly. I mean it just doesn’t work very well.

I bought this vacuum kit for the upstairs. However after I tried it out, I moved my old vacuum head upstairs and kept this one downstairs, it cleans better, the hose is longer at 35 feet so I can reach more places. I think the cleaning quality is better than my older power head that cost hundreds more. And I loved the attention to detail. My hose needs to be a direct connect. The hose came with a pigtail connect but it's convertible to a direct connect with a few simple steps. And it WAS simple. There is even a you tube video to walk you thru the process. Great purchase!

Not a bad unit – very light and brush is strong. Pulls away from you when in carpet mode – makes vacuuming easy – like my powered lawnmower. Negative – wheels have started to squeak loudly on day 2. I plan to apply some WD40 or similar, but need to be careful not to leave stains on the carpet. Otherwise good value.

These products were not built by the same company and are combined by the seller or whoever is wholesaling it to them.My power head came extremely scratched and so was the metal hose extension. This is obviously a refurb or simply someone returned it and they just put it back in the box and sent it to me.The biggest problem is that the electrical power from the power head has a normal two prong plug with an angled rubber area that should plug into a receptor on the hose. But on the hose there are only the two holes for the prongs and so there is nothing holding the power cord on. In other words, the power plug just falls out continually while you are vacuuming unless you keep your hand on it the whole time. I don't know about you, but I don't like holding on to power cords while they are on. Also, it makes the system clumsy and hard to use since you have to always use two hands.The hard floor cleaner has no hole for the pin in the metal hose extender, but it fits pretty snug. I imagine with age that this will no longer be the case and it will be harder to use.As far as how they work they seem to function fairly well. Still I may have to return them because there is no way to keep the power head cord attached.
