Clear and compassionate guide to Qi gong
I’ve been lucky enough to study with Mimi on her Qi Gong for yoga teachers course. This book is an amazing companion. I love the imagery, the fun and accessibility of Mimi’s teaching. She is able to convey her great depth of knowledge in her writing and teaching with a lightness and sense of fun which makes often lofty concepts that have seemed out of reach suddenly fall into place. Beautifully written and affirming

Learn Qi Gong and Tai Chi
A good read on Qi Gong and Tai Chi, as this book covers a lot of different movements, in detail, with helpful pictures; most of the exercises are easy to do, if you are in good health and do not have a injury; however, not all have photos and I was unsure if I was doing the exercises exactly as they are meant to be done. Also there is a lot of details about Chinese Medicine - and how Qi Gong and Tai Chi, is a system of healing and strenghtening the body, in this book, which I found interesting. The book shows you how you can use certain exercise to focus on certain parts of your body, from lungs/liver/stomach/ kidneys/ heart. If you want exercises that are easy to do and will improve your health, this could be the book for you.

Very enjoyable - love the concepts and exercises
I bought this book as I had enjoyed Mimi's YouTube videos that accompany the main element based routines. The exercises themselves are very enjoyable and beneficial. I was hoping to gain further depth of insight/answer some questions that were raised by the videos from this book. While the book is a good read and it's nice to have a book of all the sequences - I did find that there weren't enough pictures for each exercise and the text left me somewhat confused on occasion. I believe by reviewing this book and the videos together you get a very enjoyable program which I feel grateful for. As a beginner I have felt in safe hands with Mimi's approach. I look forward to carrying on with some of the more lengthy routines before attempting to learn some longer Tai Chi routines.

Mimi Kuo Deemer is a dedicated practitioner and an amazing teacher, her book reflects this.
Very concise clear information with enough background knowledge to support the teachings. I think the book is a useful teaching guide for people of all levels of practice from complete beginners to people who have been practicing for a while. I love working through the elements with all their associated meridians, organs, sounds, colours, animals and so this is a very useful book to be able to get to know what these are without it being over complicated. The illustrations are clear and the instructions of how to execute the movement are also clear. It is a must book for anyone entering into using Qigong for health and wellbeing and would like to develop an enjoyment of movement medicine. I am sure it will inspire people who read it and use it to find a teacher to carry learning more. The book is a great accompaniment to Mimi’s videos Qigong Box set For Healtn Vitality and Balance which I highly recommend as well

Perfect gift
I bought this for my dad who expressed an interest in learning about Tai Chi. Obviously he's a beginner. He says this book is excellent and really informative and easy to follow. So far he's been practicing for about a month now and tells me it's very relaxing for him after having a stressful day. He's even gotten my aunt into it and though she has limited mobility, she confirms it's peaceful for the mind and not too difficult for her. So overall this gift was a success and comes recommended!

Fantastic Book
I have read about 100 pages so far and I have got to say I am hooked already and qigong is something new for me and this is a very well written book, with pictures and movements to try, I highly recommend to people who want to start from scratch to learn Qigong.

After I practiced Qigong for a couple of months with the help and guidance of the authors excellent DVDs „Qigong Basics and Qigong Flow“, I was looking for a deeper insight on and understanding of Qigong. However, all the books on this topic I was browsing did not seem to be what I was looking for. I was searching for a book, that on the one hand is offering a lot of background knowledge and on the other hand is not getting lost in endless details. When I found out, that Mimi was about to release a book on Qigong, I decided to wait and go for a pre-order. The waiting for me was worthwile. The book is divided into an introduction on Qigong, five chapters on each of the 5 elements and a conclusion. The chapters on the 5 elements are subdivided and give more insight on each of the respective elements, e.g. their characteristics, the organs, emotions and qualities that are related to the individual element. The chapters also include an introduction to various physical excercises (guidance and photos), meditations, visualizations and breathing practices. What really made me enjoy reading this book is -along with the content- that it is written in a comprehensive way and a beautiful clear language. Summing up, the book is exactly the mixture of pragmatic approach and depth of information on Qigong and the 5 elements I was looking for. I gained a lot of new insights and inspiration and I will definitely read the book not only once, but again and use it as a reference.And I‘m really looking forward to the publication of Mimis next book later this year :)

This is an easy to read introduction to qi gong and Chinese medicine. Mimi fills the pages with copious amounts of exercises, explanations and clear instructions to start a practice from home. Her videos online work complement the book.
