Obssessed!
LOVE! this medallion so much it compelled me to write my first Amazon review. The electricians mounted it yesterday when the chandelier went up. The medallion is very lightweight but looks like plaster! They used only contractor adhesive and the pressure that the canopy piece would add. No nails or screws. (I included a picture; ignore the leaning 'candles', they still need to be tweaked. It's a +100yo recently restored chandelier). I painted the medallion with my ceiling paint; was worried it would have brush strokes and be ruined it but it was perfect. My chandelier no longer had its orig canopy, (you can Google it, I had to :-). ) I purchased an antique canopy and painted it to match so it looks like a continuation of the medallion. The medallion diameter is maybe 2" larger than the diameter of the chandelier. I read that they should be equal-ish, factoring in room size. I am thrilled with my choice. I considered lots of other options but thought this one was decorative but not fussy. Hope this review helps!

Unbeatable price for the diameter
Cheap, thin plastic, floppy, but also very usable. Smaller polyfoam medallions hold their shape well, but this one not so much. I used low expansion spray foam to fill the back of the casting and trimmed it flat. This also allows for much more surface area for adhesive if you need it. It's so lightweight that I probably went overboard on the adhesive. The casting is crisp and very consistent with little to no flaws in the pattern. If this is installed on a ceiling that isn't perfectly flat, it is floppy enough that it will bend and show that imperfection. That's the main reason I foamed it.Spray paint adheres well and has a smooth finish on the surface thanks to the casting. Overall, I'm very happy with it as most medallions of this diameter get very expensive. This was a good budget workaround and wouldn't look out of place in any environment from a small home to a higher-end residence or business.

It's is lovely albeit made of plastic
I was looking for a ceiling Medallion for my hall light fixture. This one is beautiful. It is however a bit thin and made of plastic. Still it's lovely.

Don’t waste your money.
So ofc we waited too long because I had to buy a new ceiling fan and I couldn’t return this so I wound up just installing anyway. This thing sucks. It was bubbly and scratched right out of the package, like something imprinted into it. I was so disappointed. I’m glad it’s on the ceiling so you can’t see it all that great. It’s a terrible value for the money- a flimsy piece of plastic!! Not happy with this one.

Looks amazing!!
It looks absolutely amazing!!! We painted it the same color as the ceiling. No issues, sits flat to ceiling. Love it!!

Extremely flimsy and thin
My initial thought was to rate this at 1 or 2 stars, but given the price I eventually settled on 3 stars. This is so thin that it's almost unusable for it's intended purpose without further support in some way. If you're a handy person you can figure out any number of ways to help stiffen it up. You could fill it in with spray foam, or plaster of Paris... Whatever works best for you I suppose. The medallion on it's own is about as thick as a plastic disposable dinner plate, and not like the high end disposable plate, more like a dollar store disposable plate. The design is very nice and has some good details which really inspired me to think about how to use this medallion as a mold in order to make better medallions using this as a negative. With a bit of tape to the outside and inside circles, spray a bit of mold release, and you've got a perfect mold to make some plaster cast medallions that you could sell on Etsy or something. Or just make yourself a better medallion than this company is selling you...
