1-Pack Review: Like a gummy - Before you proceed anywhere on this page... STOP. Do you know what mochi is? (Hint: it's rice) Do you know what daifuku is? (Hint: it's sweetened mochi - basically) What if I told you rice could be made into something like a yummy gummy? Would yummy gummy-like treats filled with a thick, sweet, jelly-like paste interest you? What if that thick, sweet, jelly-like paste was made from beans? Ahhhh, you're running away? :( Oh well. Let's get on with it. I have yet only tried the mango/peach/pineapple package (as of this writing they're all gone) and one of the bean paste, and they are DELICIOUS. Granted, they came in a little smashed and very soft, but... I think I like them that way! They used real fruit juice concentrate for these, so rest assured you're not going to complain that you can hardly taste the difference between each one. The pineapple really SMELLS and tastes like pineapple, the peach really DO make me think of peaches, and the mango... well, to be honest, it's been so long since I had a mango, but it's what I think a mango would smell like. The bean paste ones, as with most Japanese treats, doesn't really taste like "beans." It just tastes sweet, and thick, and... yeah, it's difficult describing it. Nothing like barbecued beans. I thought I was being very daring by eating one, that it was something to brag about to my silly siblings, but it was kind of a let down. Oh well. I can't comment on the strawberry/blueberry ones yet, but I can get an idea from the smell that they won't disappoint. :) Anyway, I loved these. They are very sweet though, and I seriously doubt it's what a native Japanese would call "legit" daifuku, but until the day I can sample the real thing, this is probably the closest I'll get. Review: You'll like these very mochi - I ordered these just like two weeks ago and I tried them right away (room temperature, straight out of the package it arrived in) and while the flavor was okay I really couldn't stand the potato starch and texture. I shoved them in the fridge where they went ignored for the next week because I just wasn't interested. A nice asian lady that my sister buys books from stopped by and we ended up on the subject of foods from around the world. My sister mentioned we have mochi in the fridge and I could see how excited she was to hear that, so I offered her some of my long-ignored treats in the fridge. Of course out of politeness I took one myself.... and this is what I have to say.... DO NOT RUIN YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE BY EATING THEM ROOM TEMPERATURE! These were waaaaaay better fridge cold. Maybe everyone is different on this and some people might like it better the first time to eat them warmer, but for me, it made them go from "it's not gross" to "I need to keep buying this stuff." I ate a bunch after this, and not a single one was bad. I think my favorite so far has probably been the green tea. Now with that being said... my sister does not like them. My little brother doesn't like them. But most of my nieces and nephews do!

You'll like these very mochi

Need a taste for it also a bit sweet.
You definitely need to keep an open mind for the taste, it has this plain taste at first then with a sweet after it. It's nice an soft so if it's not then do not eat it, reviews lately seems to have the same problem of it being hard. Though mochi is definitely something I'll definitely order again I'm going to get them from a different seller. Though the ice cream mochi is definitely really good so if your not sure about this kind then try the ice cream one, not sure if Amazon sells it but ehh.

Delicious
Delicious and they remind me of our trip to Japan.

It's gummi candy, not mochi
Definitely not mochi. Some sort of gummi candy. Very thick and dense filling. Way too sugary. Would not recommend at all unless you're looking for a giant gummi ball

Way too sweet!
I've had a variety of mochi and daifuku before, all ranging from different brands and varying quality. I was excited that I could order daifuku online at a reasonable price. These guys came swiftly and were very soft with a good shelf life. I would have adored these if it weren't for the cloying sweetness...and that's saying something since I have a sweet tooth. Yes, these are supposed to be sweet but good lord...its like eating a handful of gummies or jelly beans. Good daifuku isn't supposed to be like eating candy. If this is your first time with daifuku I'd honestly try another brand. If you still want to give these a try the red bean is the least sweet, followed by fruit and then the berry. It's ok if you want something sugary, but there has to be something better out there.

We all deserve a treat once in awhile, and this fits the bill!
I had purchased this item at a Japanese market and fell in love, a little like a gummy bear but much much softer, a much nicer texture, and the flavour was not overwhelming. I had purchased this item at a Japanese market and fell in love, a little like a gummy bear but much much softer, a much nicer texture, and the flavour was not overwhelming. I can’t really describe ir, oh I can say is try it on you will be hooked also! It was a little more expensive than in the store, but with Amazon prime and the COVID-19 curtailing our inpromptu shopping, online was the perfect solution. And who wants to take a trip to the store for one item anyway?! I was worried if it would arrive fresh or not, but it was very fresh.

[Honest Review] Do not buy if you're looking for genuine mochi
Having recently gotten into mochi, I've been looking to explore with different flavors of mochi, and I thought this would compliment that. Upon reading reviews I found mixed results, I usually take these with a grain of salt and buy anyway, expecting my product be fine. Boy was I wrong. Every single flavor is disgustingly sweet, this is evident by the fact that the first ingredient on the package is Granulated Sugar. The ingredient that should be first, which is Glutinous Rice, is 5th. Ingredients 2 and 3 are just different ways of saying sugar, and 4 is red bean paste. Individual package reviews: Rice Cake with Bean Jam: Hands down the worst. All off them have zero flavor other than an overwhelming sweetness. The only ones I actually spit out. Berry Daifuku: Favorite of the bunch, but still way to sweet to warrant buying again. Very soft, but still gummy like. The Blueberry is the best of them all, however the strawberry is very chemical and sweet. Fruit Daifuku: The most un-mochi like. The filling feels like a massive jelly bean. Disgustingly sweet just like the others. If you like overly sweet gummies with a semi soft filling, go for it. But if youre looking for a genuine mochi experience, stay far away from it. On the packaging it says its a product of Japan, if this is true, this is an insult to both mochi and Japanese culture.
