We were using frying pans to make arepas, but confirmed that this budari really makes them better. They get more crunchy on the outside, while staying soft in the middle. The budari arrives clean, but you can/should expect it to turn black over time as you use it. The corn flour of the arepa flower burns onto the surface, which is entirely ok! The areaps stuck a little bit onto the budari on the first time using it, but over time, the surface becomes seasoned (and black).

Incredible! The perfect size for a regular 30” range, I have two, I can use both at the same time on each large burner. The material is A+. Arepas ( which have always been, are and forever will be VENEZUELAN) are made perfectly on it. Love it! 100% Recommended.

Just received mine the other day. I have yet to use it. It is fairly heavy, I don't think it is much lighter than cast iron as it says. I didn't realize it has a lip at the edge but I'll work with it when flipping tortillas by hand. I'm used to using a comal that has an edge where the tortilla can be slid off and flipped easily by hand. The care instructions are similar which encourages the use of an oil to avoid food sticking to the surface. I'm sure it will work fine. The international shipping is $10 according to the receipt and it is worked into the overall cost posted on Amazon for about 31$. I had no idea Venezuela shipping was so stringent, along with the shipping paperwork I received a copy of the shippers ID, head shot, and fingerprints!

Haha it took awhile to get use to the weight of it compared to my very heavy grill. I love that it isn’t heavy but handles my tortillas just as nice. Even heat and no sticking. Perfect size too!

This product doesn’t work. It’s completely ruined after the first try. I even added oil prior as instructed in the paper that came with it. I was careful of the heat and everything. I need a refund!

Got this for my mom for Christmas and we tried it out. She loved it! Makes that classic Venezuelan arepa. It heats up faster than cast iron and heats up evenly throughout it's cooking area, I was surprised by how fast it shipped considering it ships from Venezuela, I got it a day before the estimated delivery window. Tip: Although it's pre-seasoned, make sure to use a little bit more oil than usual the first time it's used. The very first time time used it it did have some very minor sticking, but it hasn't stuck since (and we made quite a few batches of arepas since we had family over). I would definitely recommend.
