** The Best **
Whether you’re a professional or a DIYer, this is hands down the best cable stripper I’ve ever used. It’s precise, easy to handle, has complete control on depth of cut and delivers perfect results every time. Do yourself a favor and pick one up—you won’t regret it. This is worth every penny.

Great product works well.
If you strip a lot of SO cord, you need one of these. Easy to adjust depth of cut and swivel to score the cable jacket all the way to the end. For years I used a utility knife for this task - now I can’t believe I worked without it. Easy to use and saves a ton of time.

AMAZING TOOL
Could have got the cheaper versions but went with this on because it is made by a tool company that makes MANY tools (doubt they will be going anywhere anytime soon) and it came with a lifetime warranty... also will be easy to purchase replacement blades if I should ever need one... should also point out that this unit is made in England!!! so easy to use, takes less than 2 seconds to strip 1/0awg cable which I did about 100+ times with this thing so far... LOVE IT

Works well in my use case but I wish it had an extra blade on the tool.
I purchased this after purchasing and using the Arolax Round Cable Stripper (of similar size). I was unable to get the Arolax to work on my 18 AWG 3 conductor which is more flexible. The Jonard CST-1900 worked well for this cable (see photos for comparison). The first time, it cut in a perfect circle. Subsequent cuts have started to spiral slightly (which is the problem I had with the Arolax). In order to combat this, I simply grip the cable with my thumb and index finger right at the point where the tool is holding it (see photos). This prevents the tool from moving much on the cable and seems to help prevent the spiral cut when you're not in spiral mode. Things I like: -Strips smaller, flexible cables well (18 AWG 3 conductor - See photos - may need to use fingers to help hold it in place) -Strips 14 AWG 3 conductor power cord well -Tool is easy to manipulate between modes (circular and longitudinal strip) -Tool feels solid in your hand -Says Made in England on the tool Things I don't like: -This tool is more expensive than other options -Does not come with built in blade storage (or an extra blade) like the Arolax did -Does not have an edge to help strip/peel back cut insulation on the end of the tool like the Arolax did -Doesn't have a "gauge" to indicate depth of cut as another reviewer stated (none of the ones I looked at had this feature - this would be virtually impossible to implement due to how the tool adjusts the blade depth) Overall, I am very happy with this tool and I would rate it 5 stars if it had some of the Arolax features and/or it didn't have a slight tendency to spiral on the smaller, flexible cable. Edit to add photos.

Use this tool, don't be a fool.
This is the only proper way to ring cut copper cables. I have done it other ways but NOTHING else provides consistent ring cuts with repeatability and depth of cut every time.

Fantastic Tool for the Cost
This tool has been used almost daily since I purchased it. It works great for the cables that I encounter usually ranging from 4c 22awg (about 1/4") to 18c 18awg (about 1"). It takes a little bit of practice to get the blade depth set right and it varies depending on the sheathing material. If the handle is twisted a tiny bit, it will tend to cut a tight spiral instead of a perfect circumference, but this usually isn't an issue. Making lateral cuts can be tricky when fighting the spring force, but on larger cables that isn't much of a problem. Overall, great time-saving tool and works great. If you plan on cutting the shielding with the sheathing, the blade life will diminish, so pick up a spare.

Best thing since sliced bread.....
I have been a technician for 20 plus years and normally don't leave reviews on products but I wanted to leave a quick review on this item. I read other reviews stating that the blade can get snapped. But after using the product on some heavily insulated direct burial signal cable, I could see how if one of your workers got in a hurry and was slicing insulation then Midstream accidentally turned the blade the other direction how it could get snapped. But if you take your time and slitting the cable properly and don't get in a hurry it's a beautiful thing. I have used the competitors version and depending on cable thickness the cable will tend to slip to the side of the cutting Center Point which makes it a pain in the butt to use. But this item has a flatter top surface and almost appears to have a thin layer of like Teflon coated plastic which helps the sheath of the wire slide through it. So all in all this tool pays for itself the first time you use it especially when dealing with direct burial type cable. Hope this helps any other technicians out in the world, have a good one....

good cable stripper, although good for ringing cable not slitting

Works well on 6/3 and 8/3 SOOW cable. A breeze to use once you get the depth set just right.

This works every time and is far quicker than messing around with blades to strip outer cable insulation.
