Waste Maid Destroyed My Old Badger — Finally a Real Garbage Disposal 😎
I switched to the Waste Maid 10-US-WM-158-3B after suffering through a Badger garbage disposal that was, frankly, absolute trash — weak, loud, clog-prone, and about as useful as a metal bucket taped to the drain. This Waste Maid, on the other hand, feels like I finally upgraded from a stone-age grinder to an actual engineered machine 😄. The 1/2 HP motor with high RPM torque actually grinds food instead of politely nudging it around. Veggie scraps, pasta leftovers, apple peels, coffee grounds — everything disappears like I summoned a tiny black hole under the sink 😆. No jams, no choking, no sad groaning noises like the Badger used to make every time I fed it anything thicker than a wet napkin. Stainless-steel grinding components = no rust flakes, no wobbling, no screaming vibrations. It’s surprisingly smooth and quieter than expected (not silent, but nowhere near the Badger’s “angry lawnmower in a metal box” energy). Continuous feed is convenient — you keep it running and toss scraps in as you go. Fits easily under the sink and doesn’t hog the cabinet space. Anti-odor and anti-microbial features definitely help. My kitchen no longer smells like the Badger’s weekly decomposition festival. Everything stays clean, fresh, and not embarrassing when guests walk by the sink 🙃. Installation was straightforward, nothing weird or overly complicated. Standard connections, normal tools, done. In short: The Badger was garbage. This Waste Maid actually does the job. Strong motor, stainless internals, no jams, less noise, no stink. Would buy again without hesitation 😎 Highly recommended.

Great Garbage disposal.. I needed to modify is a little bit.
This seems to be POWERFUL and QUIET... Easy to install.. I had to cut away part of the plastic housing in order to fit the drain pipe.. Check my pictures... If anyone from the manufacturer see this... You should maybe check and see if anyone else had this problem... I do highly recommend this garbage disposal.. It works really well..

Good product- priced right- poor Amazon packaging.
Easy to install, took less than 30 minutes all in. GD is quieter than the one it replaced, but that said, I would not exactly call it "quiet". Seems to work well--can't speak to the longevity since I just installed it. Appears about as well made as other more expensive disposers. My only issue was the GD was packaged on top of the plumbers putty that came with it. As can be expected, the plumbers putty container was squeezed/ crushed and the top was off. Glad it was in a plastic bag or would have been a real mess. Whomever is packaging items for shipment, this is an issue as it's the third product purchased from amazon in the last week that arrived poorly packaged in a manner that makes no sense.

Garbage
The Waste Maid 10-US-WM-158-3B Garbage Disposal has been a solid upgrade for my kitchen. The 1/2 HP motor is plenty strong for everyday food scraps, and the stainless-steel grinding components handle everything smoothly without loud noise. The anti-jam feature works well—I haven’t had a single clog or stall since installing it. Setup was straightforward, and it fits nicely under the sink without taking up too much space. Overall, it’s a reliable, affordable disposal that performs exactly as advertised.

Waste Maid 10-US-WM-058-3B Garbage Disposal - 7 Months of Use Review
The TLDR First: It runs great. Isn't too loud. Solid built. Compact compared to most. Chops surprisingly well for its 1/2 hp. After 7 months continuous use in a household of 2 adults I have no complaints. I am still very satisfied with my choice. Factor in the very affordable price point and you've got yourself a solid buy. I give it my full recommendation (for what it's worth) with no caveats - which is rare for me. More details: I was initially concerned a 1/2 hp unit (of any brand) would be a little under powered making me wish I ponied up for a 3/4 or even a 1 hp unit. However, I was on a strict budget and wanted to conserve space, which the higher hp units can cost twice as much and be twice the size (comparing all brands 1/2 hp to their 1 hp offerings). After reading up about modern disposals, I learned that a decent quality 1/2 hp unit should be plenty for my use profile (2 adults that cook most our own meals - but we don't get crazy). As long as I don't try to grind up a whole turkey in it or abuse the life out of it, it should suffice, to be clear. And indeed, it has. In fact, if I went with a 1 hp unit instead, I would have purchased far more machine than I needed while wasting money and valuable space doing so. I installed it myself which was pretty straight forward and turned out perfect, but I wouldn't recommend self-install unless you're the handy type and perhaps have replaced/fixed any under sink drain sections before. But if you are comfortable doing something like replacing a P trap or leaky sink drain flange on your own then this will be well in your skill set range. If I was going to have installed, I would probably have looked for a handyman on thumbtack with basic plumbing skills. It would be dramatically cheaper than a plumber. Just my opinion, not a recommendation. It's rather quiet for being a disposal and doesn't vibrate the whole sink, which I was super impressed with. Note - I grew up in a household with a disposal that lasted from before I was born to well after I was grown and out of the house, and it always just worked, but it was loud, I mean dumptruck-crashing-into-nitroglycerin-plant level of loud. And it shook the entire sink and counter. So my bar for comparison might be a little skewed. Maybe I'll check in here at 1.5 - 2 years of use and gives an update. The only thing it has to prove now is longevity. I won't expect 20+ years out of it like the old one my parents had, but that one was made before “planned obsolescence” became the standard and consumers didn't really push back, but that is a different discussion.

Works well.

Wasn't sure about this on but after 1.5 years in I would say a good product. Haven't had any issues but I also don't abuse it with bones and items that belong in the trash.

Como que no tiene interruptor, he querido utilizar uno cercano que encendía la luz del patio que no necesito. Me cobraron 350 € de instalación. Eso, sí. Me ha quedado perfecto y va genial. Adiós a los olores de la cocina.
