I would not recommend this gel. The jars are poorly sealed and arrived with one of them leaking into the package and some of the product missing. As for the performance of the product, I am also very disappointed. It isn’t irritating like some menthol balms, but was so subtle that I barely felt anything at all. It produced a slightly cooling sensation for about 20 seconds then disappeared completely. With these kinds of balms and creams, you really get what you pay for. I’m sticking with Tiger Balm.

The only thing to note is that the menthol scent is quite strong, which may be too much for some people. Aside from that, it’s effective and provides reliable comfort. Overall, a good cooling cream that works well for muscle relief.

This was a set of two identical gel jars. Each came in a paper box with a plastic jar inside. One had leaked badly enough that the paper package was soaked and distorted. I opened the jar and found that the safety seal had popped off. I opened the second (clean) package, and that jar’s safety seal had also popped loose, but it didn’t leak. We are at 7000 feet, but safety seals should hold better than that. I used the gel on my sore tendons and it did provide a measure of relief. It is a watery green gel, and doesn’t feel sticky, greasy, or oily at all. It is cool, wet, and pleasant to apply. Instructions oddly say to squeeze it onto your fingertips and apply to the affected area, but the gel is in a tub so you wouldn’t really squeeze it onto anything. A tube might be better packaging for this material, but I like the tub fine since I am the only one using it. The front of the label says “Menthol 3% peppermint Eucalyptus” but the ingredients list menthol, arnica, sodium chloride, shea butter, and almond oil, so I’m not really sure what is in it.
