Works Just Like it Should !!!!
First let me comment on the person that lost all his fish and gave this product a 1 star - not sure what he did wrong - maybe put the whole bottle in or maybe he is one of those "leave negative comment" people that works for the competition or he had something MAJOR going on with his tank before he started treatment but rest assure - it will NOT kill your fish if followed directly. I've been doing fresh and saltwater for over 20 years now - my tank is a 300 gallon saltwater fish only. In the last 6 months i've been battling red slime algae - parameters are all in check - my final straw was 30% water (60 gal) every week for 5 weeks , cut my lights to 8 hrs / day , which really suck cause I never see my fish and finally cut to feeding every other day for a week (enough food to consume in less than 5 min.). My tank is far from overstocked - I have 18 fish (angles, tangs, butterfly, wrasses, damsels and a bunch of hermit crabs) - all under 4 inches and a 26" zebra eel also replaced my T5 light bulbs. Nothing worked and the slime keeps coming back. Finally researched what one of the best red slime removers were and this one came up many times. Before using I had about 65% slime coverage on my artificial coral -. Instead of a air stone as they recommend, I simply put my water return jet to skim the surface and had a power head behind it and it provided all the bubbles I needed. First dose took about 40 hrs to get rid of about 75% of the algae - did a 30% water change and added a second dose - another 40 hrs later it was literally all gone - did another 30% water change and now we'll see how long it stays away for - hopefully forever!! The product works like it should but it may require a second dose - ALL my fish are fine with no deaths not even the hermits - not even distressed during the treatment. I will probably dose once a month for the next few months just to keep the red slime in check. BTW - yes! turn OFF your protein skimmer - had mine off for the entire treatment - only to turn it back on after the second water change and it will foam like crazy - had to dial mine down about 3 notches from its normal position - so keep a eye on it for a few days afterwards.

Tried and true cyano treatment
I've used this product several times over many years. It always works, and I've never had any issue with it harming fish/corals. Sometimes I get by with a single dose, but be prepared to dose twice. I've started buying the larger 6g contain just for that reason. I will say, that your protein skimmer will go absolutely nuts, so be prepared to deal with that. You need to keep oxygenation up during treatment, so adjust the protein skimmer is something you probably want to keep in operation. What I do is restrict air input to the skimmer and remove the plug from the overflow cup (mine has a drain plug). Far better to keep oxygen levels high and sacrifice skimmer collection for a week in my opinion. Even after a 20% water change after treatment, you may still need to run your skimmer at a reduced rate, but at that point you can probably resume collection.

Excellent product to remove red slime and works as touted
Excellent product to remove red slime and works as touted. Safe for fish, corals, snails and invertebrates including shrimp. Please follow the directions - do not overdose the recommended amount per gallon and make sure to add heavy aeration for the suggested 48 hour treatment. This stuff will significantly reduce the oxygenation in your tank. I solve this issue by raising the flow nozzle higher above the water surface to create more air bubbles, program each of my 2 Vortech waver makers for flow on opposite schedule, and add a Hydor Koralia 1150 wave maker into my 60 gallon tank. After 72 hours, the gross red slime issue disappeared. I will be using Chemi-Clean as part of monthly maintenance along with reduced feeding to every other day to keep cyanobacteria from reappearing.

It would be better if they would list the ingredients so I could ...
If you have cyano, you need to look into the water parameters first before using this product. Otherwise it will be a matter of time before you get round 2 of it. In my small pond, I believe the organics were accumulating since I probably killed off all the nitrifying bacteria when I cleaned the filter and the colder weather conditions took a while for the bacterium to reproduce. To solve this problem, I reduced feeding and did massive water change before using this product. This product works quite well. It would be better if they would list the ingredients so I could feel comfortable enough for my reef tank...... Anyways, I think it does contain some antibiotics of some sort.... It has no effect on my plants or green algae but the cyano went from red to black from die offs. I truly believe that it contains a variation of erythromycin, then this is not a bad price. Erythromycin in the US is VERY expensive and I have no idea why. I will knock one star off unless the manufacturer can say that this product contains NO antibiotics of any sort...

Works great!!!
Chemiclean, wiped out my cynobacteria in three days it was all gone. I ran this for 72 hours instead of 48 hours. I have a 300g reef aquarium and it did not effect the corals, clams, invertebrates or fish. I did a 20% water change at the end of 72 hours. I also let me protein skimmer run wet and ran a line to a floor drain, this helped get all the chemiclean out of the aquarium and I replaced any water lost with freshly mixed saltwater. Very good experience with this product!
