Wish I can give it 10 stars. My hair is thick, north african, curly hair. I can’t believe I can straighten it quickly with 1-2 passes! I pair it with l’oreal heat protector and finish it with hair serum for the flyaways, but it stays soft and healthy looking for days!! It’s also so easy to curl your hair with one twist. Very versatile, smooth, and leaves the hair shiny unlike other big brands. Perfect temperature and I don’t have to worry about figuring out which temp to set it to I’ve been using it for months now and still excited! I finish my hair perfectly in 20 mins! I don’t dread it anymore. The picture is showing my natural hair and my straightened hair that took me ~10 min. It functions really well. Takes less than a minute to heat up. You can just place it on any surface as it’s designed in a way to not leave burns. HIGHLY recommended and saves you the salon money over time!

What a great quality straightener! I’ve been wanting this for a while, and it definitely lives up to the hype. It makes my hair so silky and smooth, and it straightens my naturally wavy hair perfectly. I also love how lightweight it is and the color — it looks so sleek on my vanity. Overall, such a great brand. GHD makes some of the best straighteners I’ve ever used, and this one is no exception. Totally worth it!

Zero damage drama. It heats up super fast — like “I just plugged it in and it’s already ready to go” fast. Perfect for those mornings when I’m running late (aka every morning). It glides through my hair without snagging, pulling, or making that scary sizzling noise that screams “you’ll regret this later.” My hair stays straight ALL day — even in humidity, wind, and toddler-induced chaos. Bonus: it also curls beautifully when I’m feeling fancy… or pretending I have my life together. 😅 Does a great job curling glides right through giving beautiful curls! Is it pricey? Yes. But so is therapy — and this gives me smooth hair and emotional stability. Worth it.

UPDATE 2024: They've lost a customer for life. It's 2024, this $300 straightener has been replaced once because it pulls hair (look at picture), it's a design flaw that was unchanged when we finally got our replacement (process took over a month). This replacement has now, multiple times, done this "overheating" failsafe immediately after it's plugged in. That's on top of the pulling because they didn't design the body properly or chose junk materials. DO NOT BUY THIS. The GHD we had before this lasted over 5 years for half the price and never pulled or failed in any way until it finally did. 2023: Bought this for my wife last year, as her previous GHD Straightener finally stopped working. I want to say we paid about $200 for that, and it lasted something very impressive; like 5 years+. This one, however, the GHD Platinum+ Professional Performance 1" Smart Styler has been trouble since the start. Immediately, the thing was grabbing her hair as the straightened. Annoying, but she dealt with it because when I contacted GHD it would have been this whole process where I wasn't sure I'd get a brand new one in return. Despite there clearly being a defect as the previous 1" GHD didn't grab her hair. Now, after almost a year of owning, this thing won't even turn on. It flashes red or something similar she said. Not only is newer, but it's also more expensive and supposedly "smarter" than the old model that worked flawless until it didn't. I would not recommend getting this. Now, I have to go through warranty pains on something that I never should have. What's worse, is I'm sure they won't send her one in the meantime. I'll have to send this in and wait for weeks.

This is the most $$$$ flat iron I’ve ever bought but it’s worth every penny. Heats almost instantly, auto shut off, exterior is cool so no accidental skin burns. Works great, my hair gets very smooth and straight with fewer passes because the temp is perfect to do the job without damaging my hair.

Works ok but more expensive

This is the best flat iron I have ever used. I have used Chi, Sedu, Solia, Babyliss, hot tools and several others over the years. I have lived in some pretty humid places as well. I in VA now and it gets pretty humid during the summer. I have very frizzy, curly hair that does what it wants. LOL not anymore. I can flat iron my hair with this and the humidity doesn't affect it at all. Even when it's pouring rain outside. I may lose a little volume but no frizz, the waves I style last the next day too. I will never buy another flat iron brand. This is my forever one. Never again do I have to worry about frizzy hair. The standard heat setting seems to be perfect and it doesn't damage my hair anymore than usual. It heats up in less than 20 secs. Impressive! It's super easy to create curls, waves and bone straight. I am by no means a pro at styling but this GHD iron makes it super easy. I can NOT recommend this flat iron enough!! Get it!!

Cheaper than on the manufacturer’s website during Prime Days. It also arrived earlier. Hair is so smooth. Only one pass through your hair to straighten. It heats and cools fast.

La plancha funciona muy bien, deja el cabello liso y sin frizz, además de que también funciona perfectamente para hacerte ondas. No se puede regular la temperatura (la plancha lo hace por si sola), por lo que el cabello no se siente que se calienta de más.

I have had many straighters in my life. From cheap drug store ones to the professional ones. Now I just buy professional ones. This is my second GHD platinum plus. My other one just went and I bought this one recently. This is the best straightener I have ever owned. There really is only five stars for this product. It's smooths hair. It just work fantastic. I was heartbroken mine broke and went to the GHD website to order and also Chatters and what I found was this gift box is 100 cheaper on amazon then the other sites. Even the straightener on its own is 100 more than this bundle. So not sure what is with that but ok! Got a nice case, a brush and don't forget to look under the box in the inside is the heat holder thing for storage. Amazing deal! Amazing straightener. I would never go back to another. Yes it is expensive but it is also a salon professional straightener. You get what you pay for. No different than comparing drug store shampoo to salon shampoo. If you know , you know. Buy it! Great for your hair, well better than the non professional ones. Great price this gift set. Like I said 100 bucks more every where else. Including the company website.

Me encantó!!! Tuve mis dudas al inicio por el precio elevado y por saber si su enchufe funcionaría en México, pero realmente valió la pena! Es una gran inversión, mi cabello quedó con un perfecto liso y brillo, cosa que ninguna otra plancha había podido darme. El precio vale la pena! Inmediatamente al recibirla, la registré en GHD para verificar su autenticidad y... es ORIGINAL!!! Por lo que la compra es 1000% segura!!! El enchufe o conector lo puedes usar perfecto en México. EXCELENTE COMPRA!!!

I was initially a little leery to purchase this on amazon, I was worried it wouldn’t be “authentic”, but I decided to take the plunge and bought it. Upon arrival, I immediately went to GHD’s website and signed the product up for the warranty and had no problems so I’m happy to report the straightener is a genuine GHD product. This is my first expensive hair tool. All previous straighteners I’ve owned came from drug stores for $40. My hair stylist uses one in her salon on my hair all the time and I’m always so taken by how smooth it feels on my hair and how fast she curls my entire head. It slides like butter and it doesn’t pull the hair at all. I liked her straightener so much that I had to buy one for myself, despite the high price tag. So when it comes to actually using it, it’s very easy. The straightener claims to heat up in 20 seconds, but when I timed it, it actually heated up in 9 seconds which is very impressive. I have fine hair, so I’m always worried about excessive heat burning my hair, so the fact that this straightener didn’t have the option to choose your own heat made me a little nervous, but it’s been just over a month of using it and so far so good! The temperature always seems perfect and it only takes one pass to curl or straighten my hair! Because the shape of the iron is slightly thicker, I find it easier to get a nice curl. All in all, I think this was worth the money. It is a very high quality product and the honest fact is that my cheap drugstore straighteners don’t compare. I’m happy I splurged on this because it performs wonderfully!
