I want to preface this by saying that I am a hairier than average female due to PCOS issues. My body hair can be thick and dark and grows very quickly. I’ve been shaving since I was 9 years old and always got razor burn and irritation and the shave never lasted long. I did so much research on hair removal and as I grew older I tried different methods but faced the same issues. Granted I’ve never tried laser because it’s out of my budget. I tried waxing which wasn’t terrible in terms of pain and while it did last me almost 2 weeks, when there was hair I missed that I’d just pluck or shave, it grew back unevenly and shaving over skin that’s barely growing back after waxing was painful and caused more ingrowns. I disliked having the extra expense of purchasing wax beads constantly. Not to mention the MESS that comes with waxing at home when you’re not a professional! Sugaring was probably the best hair removal method I tried because it truly thinned out the hair that came back and took some time, it was sparse and I felt my skin looked great but making the wax out of sugar, Lemon and water everytime from scratch took so much trial and error to get the perfect consistency for my skin needs. Purchasing the ready made sugaring stuff was always a hit or miss. I’m also someone who runs warm so as I’d sugar the hair, the sugar would start to melt into my skin and became unusable regardless of my sitting right in front of the AC! I will admit with any hair removal method I always had terrible irritation so when it grew back I would get painful Ingrown hair despite having skin care and exfoliation routines to combat that so I finally just gave up on hair removal all together and would only shave the hair when necessary like when I’d wear dresses or skirts and especially during the hot months when it’s not really an option to wear pants. For a few years I let most of my body hair run wild and let it be but as I started to enter the dating world of course I wanted to be smooth and wear my more feminine clothes. Overall I wanted to feel more aesthetically feminine so I got back into shaving but the irritation was horrible as expected and I gave up again until I found this! This is my first epilator ever. I read about how painful epilating was and always decided against purchasing one but I’m glad I gave this a chance! Sure it does feel more painful than any hair removal method I’ve personally tried but the lack of ingrowns, skin irritation and burns I have afterwards make this so worth it. This was terrific in terms of price and works fine. I do have to go over skin a few times to make sure I get everything and yes as far as irritation goes I get the little raised bumps for a short time it goes away within hours, but I’ll take that to ingrowns and razor burns and itchiness! My skin feels genuinely smooth and I don’t have the same strawberry legs and pores that shaving gives me! The more you do it the more you get used to the pain. My recommendation is to epilate at least a day before you want to bare the skin. My only complaint is the power cord comes off quite easily. For folks who have overstimulation issues, this is quite loud. Personally, I use headphones and watch something to take my mind off the pain and noise. Overall, I have nothing but admiration and respect for people who epilate because it can be a doozy! Cheers to smoother skin and a raised pain tolerance. 🍸

I'm really glad I ordered this. Used it this weekend, on my underarms and legs - it worked very well and got the job done quickly. Note: as others warned, there was some discomfort, but I found it to be easily tolerated. However, I'm someone who's used wax strips and tweezers over the years, so am probably more used to the sensation of plucking hairs. So, I found this device to feel like a very mild stinging that quickly passed. My skin did not seem irritated once the quick pass of the device was over. Someone who's new to epilation (tweezing) will probably need to get used to the sensation, but for me this device worked wonderfully. Tip: it definitely helps to use your free hand to pull the skin taut as you use this (or when you use tweezers). I wish I'd bought this years ago, it made quick work of the job and was not messy. Good product as long as you can tolerate some brief, minor discomfort (which will likely become less as you get accustomed to it).

Not too bad! It hurts a lot but once you get used to it, it’s not that bad. I DO NOT recommend under the arms though. SUPER painful. It does struggle to get little hairs like upper leg, which is annoying since they don’t grow that long but works perfectly on lower leg. Definitely exfoliate every time you shower, and moisturize to avoid ingrown hairs. I wish it was cordless because it unplugs a lot which sucks and I have to be near an outlet…

So small yet powerful! Mine finally died and had to purchase a new one - I love this! Works fast and is less "uncomfortable" than my previous epilator. I prefer to plug mine in, and the cord is plenty long; I prefer this rather than changing batteries or having to charge batteries. The price is amazing and am very happy with my purchase.

As someone who has tried pretty much any and every method of hair removal under the sun, I think this is the one that I'll be sticking with for good. One of the main complaints I have seen is that it hurts, but I say if you've ever waxed your legs and survived, then trust me, you'll survive an epilator. I personally think that this hurts less than waxing, and that's coming from someone with a low pain tolerance. It's so easy to clean, not that it needs much maintenance at all. It comes with its own little brush to brush out the few hairs that might get stuck in the machine, and the parts are easy to take apart, and not complicated at all to put back together. The only things to complain about this item, are 2 minor things: It is loud. Like, LOUD. The noisiness was the most intimidating part when trying it for the first time. The second would be that the chord could be a little longer, so it doesn't fall/pull off so easily from the machine. This doesn't happen often, but I can see it being bothersome for some. Over all, I have converted into a walking ad for this epilator LOL. Compared to shaving, waxing, threading, Nair, etc, I find this method to be the most affordable, efficient, convenient, least painful, least wasteful, and honestly, the results are also much more long lasting.
