Feminist Cross-Stitch: 40 Bold & Fierce Patterns Review: Highly Recommend - I love this book and Stephanie’s work! This is the first book I bought when I started cross-stitching less than a year ago and it has been a perfect introduction to the craft. The patterns are clear and easy-to-read. I also really love the difficulty scale for each pattern that allows you to choose projects based on your skill level. The tips, tricks, and resources Rohr shares also help to navigate cross-stitch more effectively. My favorite part has been bringing these gorgeous and affirming designs to life, and gifting them. I’m slowly making my way through each pattern in the book and loving every minute! Review: Fantastic cross stitch book - I adore this novel. It’s full of pretty, simple cross stitch patterns. They are all updated for our time, and apropos to today’s societal issues. The how-to section is thorough and concise. The only people who don’t like this book are whiny snowflakes who cry whenever anything changes (for the better), in order to be more relevant to the times, or pearl clutchers who faint at the sight of the ‘f-word’. (There are maybe four swear words in this novel, to be stitched in these patterns. But since we are grown ups and can handle these ‘naughty’ words, that shouldn’t be a problem, should it...?). Me and my family love the patterns in this novel, as do all my stitchy friends!

Great tutorials at the beginning as well as awesome patterns
Pearl clutchers, beware. There is swearing in these pages. That being said, the book itself is an awesome resource for the tutorial at the beginning alone. The patterns are easy to follow and make quick works of art. Amazon initially shipped it with another book, which ended up wedged inside the cross stitch book, causing the spine to separate. They immediately shipped out another and return of the damaged book was as easy as dropping off at the UPS store next door to someplace I was going anyway. So kudos to Amazon for that as well.

Too much fun!
Very nice, good for beginners and experienced stitchers. I *love* Rosie the Riviter! I'm so happy to see her included. I highly recommend you print a physical copy at a slightly larger than life-size. On real paper. I know, what a dinosaur! But you can easily mix and match motifs from various patterns by using the original cut and paste method. For example, I did this with another great x-stitch book, "The Crosstitchers Bible." I I liked the frame of one design, plus I needed a couple extra lines on my sampler to fit the frame I wanted to use. So I went to the copy shop and messed with scissors and tape until I had a clean, usable copy to tuck into my stitchery tote. It cost me a couple of dollars, as I used free ɓcolor copies, but it was well worth it. I have a sign on my wall that says, "We are the daughters of the Witches you didn't burn." I think it will look nice with some blue flowers from this book. Maybe the sunflowers? Copy Shop, here I come!!! Nice to use yourself, give away as a gift, or to make gifts. Worth buying or borrowing. Highly recommend. Readable and well illustrated. 9/10 Unicorns 🦄 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄

Fun patterns, and a good intro
I like the clear instructions at the start of the book. I haven't cross-stitched in decades, but I'm sure I can do so with confidence give the instructions here. And the patterns are a blast! I'd love to see what the author can do with sampler style patterns, too. Looking forward to picking up needle and thread again!

Lovely Patterns
I'm excited to try out some of the patterns, they look quick enough to get me back in the cross stitching habit. I also appreciate the information in the beginning about the different stitches. The only draw back in the information on one of the patterns. It's a quote from A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Though she be but little, she is fierce". Unfortunately they misrepresented this as being a description of Helena, when it is in fact Helena describing Hermia. Oh well, it's not the end of the world. This pattern was the reason I bought the book, and thought that was funny. Doesn't detract from the patterns, so don't let it stop you from buying!

GET THIS BOOK, QUEEN
Every strong person NEEDS this book. Since I have been self-isolating and quarantining myself, I figured I should try something I have always wanted to try - cross stitching! I found a tutorial at Walmart: it was a baby fox with the words "BE BRAVE LITTLE ONE" on it. I think it was made for a nursery (it was either that or "God Bless this House" oof). While it turned out nice and cute, I wanted something more... me! And this book is definitely me. It's probably the best thing I've purchased all year, and I've bought a lot of things... (you're welcome daddy Bezos). I followed the To-Do List pretty much exactly how it is in the book. I didn't have her colors specifically, but made do with what I had and how I wanted it to look. I also used her design for the flower border in the second pic, but customized the inside as I wanted it to be a gift for my grandma. This was my first time free handing letters tho, so please don't judge!! ANYWAYS: buy the book! Its worth every penny. The directions are nice and thorough. I love that she recommends what, where, and whom to buy from, and all of the extra detail she put into this. It's great for beginners, intermediate, and probably advanced cross stitchers too!!

Clear patterns and great writing
Steph is such a wonderful, creative, and hilarious author. The patterns in this book were empowering and I look forward to making some. There are very clear patterns along with a finished picture of each design and there is basic and clear instructions on how to cross stitch for those just starting. Awesome book overall.

This cross stitch book is filled with attractive designs that appeal to all levels of stitchers. The beginner will have no problem diving into these and for those with more advanced experience, it's nice to take a break from pages of tiny squares to stitch something that works up quickly. There are a variety of designs to give a broad appeal and the bright colours and bold fonts are sure to attract attention. These make great gifts and can be hung in an office, at home, or anywhere! The book includes helpful instruction for the beginning stitcher and a list of resources at the back. Definitely a great addition to any snarky stitcher's library.
