Simple & Good Value
I bought this phone for my mom/dad as a basic daily phone, and it's perfect for that. It’s not a flashy gaming phone, but it does everything you need really well. What I like: · Battery lasts very long – She only charges it every 2 days. · Screen is big and clear – Easy on the eyes for reading and videos. · Simple to use – Easy to set up, no complicated menus. · Looks nice – Feels solid, not cheap at all. · Very affordable! For normal tasks like WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, and calls, this phone is more than enough. It’s fast enough for everyday stuff. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable phone without spending a lot of money, the Redmi A5 is a great choice. No complaints here!

Surprisingly Good
I ordered this phone to replace my husband's old handset as that is only configured for 3G so will be off network by the end of the year. I was looking for the most cost effective way to get him a phone that was suitable for calls, text messaging, streaming sporting events and for the couple of apps he uses. He mainly needs a phone to be a phone with a few extra benefits - such as a local area taxi app. The phone itself is incredibly lightweight, makes a big change from his old handset. The screen is large and is the full size of the front of the phone. Colour resolution seems to be pretty good with good contrasts. The camera is a basic but does the job. For us the camera quality is not particularly important - the only photos he tends to take are when he is out shopping and wants to send me an image of a product. Set up was so simple, I was absolutely amazed. I was transferring from one Android phone to another and I just needed to have them sat next to each other and turned on. The Redmi A5 even prompts you when to pop your micro-SD card in. Transferred all apps, messages and contacts on to the A5 from his Moto G7 (yes, you read that right a 2019 model and the only reason we are upgrading is that it only supports 3G - even the battery life is pretty darn good still) with no issues and everythign works as anticipated. The fingerprint scanner is just plain weird though. Instead of being on the screen it is sited on the on/off button mounted to the side of the phone. Seems to be hit and miss with it working and I think this is due to the location - you can use a PIN instead so that is what we have settled on. Torch is incredibly bright and easy to access by swiping down. Charging is via an included USB-C cable and seems to charge pretty quickly. Overall, considering the budget price of this phone it does everything we need (and likely more!)

Finger reader not working reliably
Decent cheap value for money android phone with great battery life the only negative is the sensitivity of the finger print reader or non sensitivity very annoying . Gave up in the end . Fails more often than it works meaning you have to input your lock screen code.

Great cheap mobile phone.
I bought two of these. This one being the 3GB version and the other a 4GB for my daughter. I bought the 3GB for myself to use primarily as an MP3 Player and have downloaded a few games from the Play Store which run with no problem. My daughter plays Roblox on her 4GB mobile and runs fine though I haven't tried on mine but I'm not interested in Roblox. The battery life is great though I don't run any intensive applications but I don't have to worry about needing to plug in a charger. Charging is slow compared to others but then I don't have to be continually putting it on charge. Maybe every second day or so. The sound from it's speaker, which is weirdly on the top, isn't the best but does. So preferable to use the earphones or Bluetooth. I haven't used the camera much and never have really used any phone as a camera. For that I use a real camera. I found that colours aren't quite what they should be. I.e. An image with purple in it came out blue and some others like red can appear orange. They do sort of pop out better but not a true representation. I don't know if this is part of the AI? I've compared it directly with my IPhone and there certainly is a difference in colours. I have an old Redmi note 10 which I could change themes and customise almost anything on the screen but this one seems to be missing that same level of functionality. It is very basic compared to before. All in all this is a great value mobile. Maybe as a first phone or for a child. If it is broken or goes missing then it's cheap to replace.

Cheap cheerful does the job
Bought this at a bargin discounted price £56 3gig ram variant back in the summer for a friend who likes her device strapped to her 24/7 this replaced her broken device and as a user who phone never out her clutches she is well pleased with it. Does everything she requires such as social media, chats, movies, music and calls. Got a really large screen. Good all round budget preformer It does not seem laggy in the slightest. Camera is never going to be high spec super doopa but having video conferenced her it does the job well. I give it 5 stars because for the coin it delivers.

Good for a cheap phone
The phone is ok for the price but a little unreliable and we have had problems with it switching on. You get what you pay for I guess

Love It For The Price!
Love my new A5. The phone looks fresh. It sometimes lags or acts a little slow and I'm a fast hyper so it sometimes lags and doesn't get all the characters typed. But for the price it is amazing. Only happens sometimes, usually it's perfect. Best fingerprint scanner on a phone ever might I add. Apps that aren't available on the play store can half the time be found on the app mall which is preinstalled on the phone. Not build for heavy gaming. It will lag tryna play games like pubg. Subway surfer and less dending games works reasonable well tho. Roblox runs slightly laggy but it's good enough. Does have advertisement popups for games which are not disable able which is annoying but that's probably why it's as cheap as it is.
