Good color
It had a stronger pigment than inspected, because of that I was able to use it with a bit of hair conditioner and still have a good color, thumbs up

I have textured hair, so the photos reflect various stages of that over a few days. It's pretty alright. I used to use this stuff as a punk rock teenager. The packaging is different. The container is smaller. It costs more. As it goes. Huzzah capitalism. The colour for this is definitely more of what was originally the plum colour. Which is good because that's what I wanted, and this one used to be much bluer and lighter. So far the punky color lives up to the standards and memories of my youth. I've had minimal colour loss (that might in part be because of the shampoo and conditioner I use? But idk). I like this too because a little goes a long way. That being said I have shorter hair, but I'll be getting at least another 1.5 uses out of it. I guess my one real drawback is that it smells more chemically than it used to. It used to strictly smell like those fruity smelly markers that kids get. While that smell is still there it's definitely overpowered by chemicals. My friend is a hairdresser and dyed my hair a similar colour and the colour basically completely washed out after a few weeks. Even when I was just doing water rinses. It never reallh permeated my hair, despite bleaching. I brushed my hair out and put coconut oil around my edges, ears and on my neck (vaseline also works), added colour from root to tip with dry hair. I let it sit for 30 minutes. I'm super happy with it. My hairdresser friend is ticked off that it works as well as it does lol.

I love wacky colours on my head and I have gone Burgundy to red to orange to candy pink and eventually violet. And I feel violet is here to stay. I have been using Paradyes on pre-bleached hair and so far had no complain but for the fact that it washes away very fast. Like 8 to 10 washes.Hence I came to amazon looking for something that lasts a little longer. And oh man the feedback on this blew my mind, local and global. Thus is decided to try this. However, there is one thing that scared me was the part where almost everyone said that Pinky, stains everything! I was quite worried that I might look like smurf by the time im done washing it off. So, I got my best ammunitions at hand to combat that. And Viola! I dont look like Smurf ! This is what I did....okay one another thing before that...the consistency on this is very thick and gel like and its super pigmented. But its a 100% non drip. And I used the color direct from bottle with no additives. Now getting into how I achieved a headful of violet without staining. Tools list : Surgical Gloves - 1 pair( available in drug stores, by the way they are gradient blue now ) Coconut Oil A Black Towel Before I started with the colouring process, I smeared coconut oil all over me .....face, ears, neck (front and back), shoulder and the full length of my arms. Once done wore the gloves and dipped my fingers into the jar of violet. Once done with the color on my head, I washed out the gloves and waited like a little more than an hour. When it came to showering, once again I took help from the coconut oil....smeared my whole body with a lot of it starting from face to the tip of my ttap. to the extent that it looked like I took a dip in a barrel of oil. Put on the gloves, again and went in for the wash. Instead of the shower, I used the tap. I hung my head in the cold water ( its important that the water is cold when we wash semi-permanent colours, hot water opens up hair cuticles thus bleeding out the color molecules ), and massaged away the color with my fingers till the water ran clear ( and I have no stains on the bathroom floor neither on anything with is white or of a lighter colour ) and kept the water running till all the color washed out of the bathroom tiles ( I turned on the hot water while at this ). While tge water worked on the floor I rinsed my hair with the black towel and used a color protect conditioner on my hair. While the conditioner sat, I used a warm.shower and a shower gel to wash off the oil from my body ( coconut oil is very hyd rating and even after a warm shower, my skin was soft and supple with no dryness at all ). Once, done with that I turned on the cold shower and washed the conditioner out. It was a bit tedious process and required a bit of extra cautios prep, but its worth the trouble. Im not blue, my bathroom is not blue and I dont look like smurf ! The color turn out is amazing, I had to wait out the night for my hair to dry up just so that I could take a picture in natural light. While under the light ( white light / tube ) the color outputs a blue shine, in natural light ( sun )it throws up a vibrant purple shade ( little darker than the catalogue color violet ) but thats what I wanted and im so loving the result. Hair feels amazingly soft and loved. I just cant keep my hands off them 😂😂😂 Few things to note: Im not worried about the bleeding post color, all semi permanent colors bleed Pre-lightening is the key to get the correct color output and vibrancy any semi permanent color has to offer Also hair health is very important, after bleach and color, hair care routine should be packed with a good purple / blue shampoo to tone the underlying brassy tones ( yellow/orange/reddish untertones ) Color protect shampoo and conditioner is a must. I have added some violet / purple dye to the conditioner since I went purple head a month or two back. This helps restore the vibrancy of the color while you condition the hair. Optional is to get a color deposit shampoo, which I intend to get Do not wash your hair for 72 hours from time you have colored your hair, that's the amount of time it takes for the color to settledown in the hair cuticles Always wash your hair with cold water ( hot water rinses out more color as it opens the hair cuticles ) Keep heat styling to minimum ( same reason as hot water ). Instead try to use non heat methods to style like a good after wash gel...I use Fix My Curls - Curl Quenching Jelly ( I have straight hair however this jelly works better than most other hair gel ). Because this is created to hold curls ( which is very hard to set other wise), the formula once applied to rinsed hair, upon styling, works great in holding straight hair for atleast a couple of days before you wash it again Invest in a good dry shampoo, it cleanses and adds volume to the hair without affecting the color as opposed to a wet wash Incase you have to heat style, invest in a good heat protect serum or spray Hope this helps !

I have been using the punky colors for years now. Mainly violet but I have tried others. Easy to apply, very pigmented, stays for a good time, and fades beautifully. It arrived days before estimated date

I have always loved Jerome Russell punky dye. Easy to use, hydrating, lasts a while, and worth it. I bought this violet as well as the pink flamingo I think it is.
