I try to sit with my son but he actually wants to find all the sounds and different things it can do by himself. It seems everytime he sits down with one of these books, he finds something different it can do. So it's keeping him busy, and he's actually learning at the same time which is amazing. And it gives me a break and some peace at the same time! Woot woot, it's a win for everyone!! It's quite affordable, and most add on books are only 10 dollars and there's a nice variety for the different ages too. If I had to say one complaint, it's that there's not enough of the 3D images and a lot of the book just has sounds. So my son keeps thinking he's doing something wrong because one button makes the screen light up with dancing and music, and then the button beside it just plays music. More 3D videos would be a lot better. But other than that, it's amazing! Highly recommended!

Bought it in store. Worked great for months. But, my toddler handled roughly and now pen is not working. I wonder if it can be bought separately.

-First off I'd like to add the set up was very easy, and did not drain the battery.- I was nervous having seen so many reviews who had said the software was slow and difficult. Software downloaded quick and I was also able to load it efficiently on to the Leap start Pad 3D. We have a q computer that operates on Windows 10 and had no issues with software running. - Once your books are loaded , it's so easy to interact with your chosen books Likes -Easy operation - Will prompt your child with suggestions and questions. Important for the younger ones who may not know how to interact. - 3D animations really add another level to keep child engaged. -Headphone jack+ volume control. -Size isn't too bulky, and seems sturdy What I wish was different - I really wish it had an alternative power source option. To be charged . And only have battery as a backup.

Am a fan of leapfrog products, having owned a few. This was total disappointment. Firstly, amazon sent an item with the packaging badly torn. And after 27 days of usage, the pen could not be used.
