RV patio lights
I FINALLY got to use mine! No, they are not too heavy for the power awning of a 2012 Fleetwood Expedition, if that helps, but the Expedition has quite a sturdy power awning. I don't know what kind of awning you have, but these are not wimpy lights like the decorative/Christmas type of lights. [I was answering a question about this product, and decided to go ahead and leave my answer as a positive review] I also turned up the the automatic awning retract switch to maximum to prevent the awning from rolling up while the lights were hanging from it.Use the Camco fabric party light holders with them. Camco 42733 Fabric Party Light Holders. I believe someone said you can just roll these tabs up in the awning. They look integrated.I originally bought JR Products 05205 Stainless Steel Party Light Hanger, which come with flexible white tabs that slide into the awning. They are nice holders if you have lightweight lights, but I was then afraid the clips would be unable to support the weight of this string of party lights. That's when I bought the fabric light holders.BTW, the string can take up to 60watt bulbs. I bought 40watt, which was sufficiently bright to see by, but I was worried about blinding my neighbors. You might try 25watt if you just want ambient lighting. I'm going to try a dimmer switch with mine.I hope this was helpful. I'm very happy with these lights. Several neighbors stopped to ask about them. Maybe you were one of them in San Diego for Easter weekend? :) I'll just go ahead and post this as a review. Mind you, I've only used them once so far. They seem like they'll be long lasting.Paperwork inside the box showed offered an assortment of colored globes on could order in addition.

So I'm either going to search for 25watt bulbs or possibly add a dimer switch as other reviewers have recommended. One reviewer mentioned she didn't receive the silver ...
I used my lights for the first time on our last camping trip just last week. I had 2 other people in the campground stop and ask where I had gotten them. One of the gals that asked had just arrived to camp and was there for 30 days. Two days later she came down and told me she had ordered a set, received them and was in the process of putting them up. As a previous reviewer said, these lights can be found cheaper at Camping World, but the cheapest I've seen them is about $59 and it was a very short sale which I unfortunately missed out on. I waited about a month hoping they would go on sale again and they never did. I had seen these on someone else's RV and knew the quality was worth the extra money to get them on Amazon and I didn't want to wait any longer. I used 40watt bulbs in mine and they really were very bright. For where I was camping it wasn't a problem but I think they are too bright for the more common campgrounds we camp in regularly. So I'm either going to search for 25watt bulbs or possibly add a dimer switch as other reviewers have recommended. One reviewer mentioned she didn't receive the silver hooks that are included but they could have easily been tossed. So, carefully get them out before you forget and toss your box. Don't forget to order the Camco awning clips if that's how you will hang them. They are a breeze to put up and take down and I'm so excited to use them again!

Beautiful, quality lights!
I had been looking for quality awning lights that would last, unlike the cutsey, flimsy throw-away light strings. I have seen these on several retail websites and read lots of reviews before ordering. I have to say, these deserve all the "5-star" ratings. The lights are quality, with heavy electrical cords and substantial bases that hold regular size bulbs. (No specialty size bulbs required!) These are easy to hang using the Camco awning clips, and can be quickly taken down in case of bad weather. Like other reviewers, we purchased a dimmer so that we can adjust the amount of light as need be.The cord is long and easily reaches the available 110V outlet in our exterior storage bay. The cord is coiled in between each fixture, which allows them to be spaced as needed along the awning. We installed 40 watt bulbs which are plenty bright, though up to a 60 watt bulb can be used with these. (I can't imagine using the 60-watt bulbs; the RV would probably look like a landing strip in a campground!!) To change the look, the manufacturer also sells replacement globes in many different colors and styles...those will be fun to buy to swap out for holidays. One caution if you have a flimsy awning...these lights are a little weighty. I imagine that most newer awnings can support these with no problem, however. Best of all, these lights are gorgeous and classy looking! Buy them...you won't be disappointed.

mixed feelings
The wiring and light fixtures seem very well made. The globes are another thing entirely. They are very fragile, as a matter of fact one was badly broken when we opened the shipping box. They are very thin and of course some sort of plastic based material. But on the good side, I called the company that shipped the light set and told them about the globe and they said they would ship one to me, I ask did I need to ship the broken one back to them for evidence and they said just throw it away and they would send another. So that said, for one they will help you, but two, they must know how fragile the globes are. I would order these lights again. At least you have no questions ask support, RIGHT.
