Amazing for the price!
First off, the comfort. This Headset is decently comfy if you keep the original headstrap on the headset. I like how the original headstrap on this headset has double straps so it is easier to adjust to the right fit, and it feels a little more comfy than the quest 2’s single strap headstrap. If you want to upgrade your headstrap, then you can buy an elite strap. I have an elite strap and it feels a lot better. Next, the value of money. The price tag of about $300 for this headset is insanely cheap! The quality, functionality, visuals, and overall performance are what I would expect from a headset that would be about $500+. So what I am saying is that this headset is at an amazing price for what the headset can do. Lastly, the battery life. There are mixed reactions on the battery life upon many reviews on this headset, but if you are someone who plays VR games for like 3+ hours, and you need extra battery, then you could just buy a headset battery extender to fix that problem. I have a headset battery extender, and it increased my playtime from about 2 hours, to 4 hours. I 100% recommend this Headset!

Good starter for VR, get an external head strap battery.
There was soo much anticipation and doubt with this thing before I ordered it. Now that I have used it for a while I'm rather surprised. First off, the shipping was fine, the packaging was fine, no damage and I had no issues with the price. First VR experience as a Tech freak and I'm blown away by what it's capable of. I know since my experience is limited to this quest 3s, I'll need a few more to compare it to. I used my roommates quest 2 and I know what I have is better in that regard. It's great that I can run some emulators sideloaded. RetroArch runs but don't expect gamepads to plug and play without some configuration. Ok so it runs VRchat ok. Know that there is no warning for loading certain worlds that are not optimized so the quest 3s will stutter and crash from too much going on. Last night I had to do a 10 second power button hold to restart the headset. I love watching movies with this thing. Using JBL tunes660nr. It's Bluetooth and sounds great. The built in speakers are not bad but know that what your listening to will be heard by others in the same room on low volume. I don't blast out at full volume often. The glasses spacer is junk. My lenses are scuffed. Your not getting prescription lenses from Zenni optical if you have progressives. They don't support it. I'll need to find another option and figure out how to replace the factory lenses. Build is ok, controllers need a grip set. They were made to be dropped so meta makes more money. Can't say the wrist strap rings work well. I bought a grip set to protect controllers. I use my quest every day for three plus hours and the battery life is incredible up to a whole week on a single AA per controller. I bought rechargeable batteries... Be aware that your batteries may die without warning. Indicator will show full battery life until dead. The head strap sucks. The quest pulls forward and is uncomfortable without an external head strap battery to balance the weight. By the way, your headset battery life is 2 hours. You need to plug it in or use the head strap battery for longer use. The visuals and resolution is good. I watch YouTube at full screen with good quality. 720p is great. 1080p is a bit of a gamble with buffering possible. Look what it costs to what you get.... I got a lot for what I paid. Overall?... I'm satisfied.

This is an amazing piece of kit at a great price. An almost Quest 3 for half price.
If you have VR curiosity, or don't want to blow a bunch of dough on it, this is the unit to buy. Full stop. We have both a Quest 3 (512) and a Quest 3S (128) as well as an Oculus Rift and Rift S (wired PCVR). This tech has REALLY advanced since those early units. As to this "cheap, entry level" VR headset, the 3S is absolutely amazing! The picture quality looks really good and to be honest, the superior Quest 3 doesn't look dramatically better. You get a lot for your money here. Much of the kit is identical, like the awesome CPU and the controllers; the headset sound quality is also very good. The thicker 3S feels a little heavier than the 3 even though they are basically the exact same weight. Both headsets feel a bit front heavy, I don't like dial straps nor adding counter weight so I bought a supplemental rubber strap insert that helps redistribute the weight better at the back. If you really get into VR, 128GB will eventually feel limiting, as you'll have to start removing games to add new ones to the headset. 3-4 of the largest games would fill it up. For casual users, it should be plenty. I need to test mixed reality out more to get a sense of which unit does that better, if there is any difference. NOTE: I really can't see a use case for buying the 3S 256gb model. If you pony up for that, you may as well go all in for the full quest 3 as you get double the space (512gb) and many more features. Also, don't buy Meta's overpriced accessories. Example: 80 dollars for a Meta 16' PCVR cord? Many 25 dollar cords of higher quality that also charge the unit at max speed are available. HOOKING UP WIRELESS PCVR (such as steam): Online, you'll see many suggesting to buy a dedicated router for this while your PC needs to be ethernet. Not true. What you really want to do is connect your headset to your PC through your PC's wifi adapter. Even if you have no wifi on the VR PC, it's still cheaper and easier to setup if you just add a wifi adapter instead of setting up a new router and potentially rewiring your room/house/PC for ethernet. *You may need to re-start your PC if you already had the Quest connected another way.

Pretty awesome. Last vr headset I owned was the first PSVR and I couldn't stand the screen door effect and I would get motion sickness pretty easily. VR has definitely come a long way with higher resolution and customizable comfort settings so with games like Asgard's Wrath 2 I can play for a long time without feeling sick with smooth movement. There is lots to do standalone with the 3s but you can also link it to a pc through SteamVR as well as other types of links to play PCVR games. I haven't tried any productivity apps but for my purposes as a gamer I'm pretty impressed.

Arrived three days early, package was a little damaged but nothing was harmed inside. As for the Quest itself, it works very well for my use as it's my first VR headset, my 12 year old brother loves it too. There are quite a few very fun games for it, both in standalone and in PCVR mode, as well as some incredible community made mods for existing games, like Half Life 2, Halo CE and Far Cry. I was a bit concerned about the sound quality but the speakers are actually quite decent, they have great spatial audio. I'd certainly recommend getting a third party strap with it however, since the base strap is rather uncomfortable for wearing it for more than 20-30 minutes. The battery life isn't amazing, only up to a couple hours or so if you're playing more demanding games but plugging in a power bank isn't too hard. And you can always just play PCVR games if you've got a decent computer for longer battery life. The resolution is actually not very high and it's rather obvious when looking at menus, especially since I'm used to looking at 1440p flat-screens. But it's not much of an issue when in-game. Overall, a great buy IMO, at a reasonable price especially compared to other headsets.
