Versatile as heck. Use for period cramps and lower back pain
I love this stupid thing. I originally got it for my neck and shoulders and while it does work superbly for that purpose, I end up using it more for cramps and my back pain. There’s something about the length and curve or it that is perfect for just hitting my abdomen for cramps or my lower back. It also works well for my side (sliding rib syndrome) where I can wrap it on my right side to cover my QL all the way to my abs and the weight of the ends holds it in place on my front pretty well when reclined. Basically, this is my go-to for all body heating needs bc of its small frame and versatility. I’ve had it for 2 years now and it is still equally warm (no dead spots) and I can still only use it up to level 2 out of 4 before it becomes too hot so it’s going to last me a lot longer than the 2 years I’ve had it. Definitely one of those purchases where if something happened to it, I would repurchase immediately.

Works well and lasts a long time
I've had this well over a year now and really love it. It comes out every so often when I work too long at the computer. Also great to use as a heating pad, since the metal coil of the neck will spread flat pretty well. I appreciate the auto shut off although I don't like to fall asleep with it on anyway. I usually crank it up to the highest level every time. Fyi it will not stay at the hottest level continuously, it will cycle on and off. But I think this is for safety and not a bug. I really like the adjustable collar, and how it will snap closed. And the weighted edge is a really nice touch that makes it feel cozy. It's lasted a long time already and I'll continue using it.

Not Perfect But My Neck And I Love the Heat!
12/22/25: I will say one thing about this neck and shoulder heating pad. It has lasted. I have used it off and on since I purchased it in 2023. Lost it and found it again several times over. It gets around my home and then when I find it, like today, I use it and I'm so thankful for it once again. I'm not easy on heating pads and I have had several that I have no idea where they are because they were bulky or hard to use. This one sits on shoulders and warms my neck immediately. No pain today but the weather is cold and so am I. Bumping up my rating from 2 stars to 4 because of longevity despite not taking care of it and because it always just works. Bought direct from Amazon, like I always do, and once again I was not disappointed with my purchase. 08/16/23: I wish I had listened to the reviewers who talked about this heating pad being uncomfortable to use. It's a torture heating pad. I have the previous gen and it's snuggly and comfortable to use on your shoulders or any other part you want to put heat to because it's not so structured and rigid as this one. It also doesn't heat evenly and all the way to the edges like mine. I wanted one for my living room and one for my bedroom. But this one will not be the one for my living room. I'll keep looking.

Like a warm hug
Works really well. I love that It's weighted and the fabric is really soft and comforting like a warm hug. I looks well made and durable but time will tell on that. The heat is good, I've been using it very frequently due to a recurring rotator cup issue and it has been a lifesaver. I recommend this product.

Such a great heating pad to have!
This has been so monumental in helping with my headaches and Cervalgia. Such a great heating pad to have when the migraines and stress hit.

Does what it says on the tin
I got this neck and shoulder heating pad on impulse a couple months ago when I was going through a severe bout of neck and shoulder pain, which I suffer frequently as a desk worker. My chief complaints are neck and shoulder tension, with an RSI centered in my right front shoulder. I find it's actually helpful. The heat is concentrated more on the neck than the shoulders, so it is better for neck pain than shoulder pain. There is still enough heat on the shoulders that it can be soothing there as well. That said, on Whiny Shoulder Days, I find myself wishing I had a heating pad that was able to give more focus and heat to the shoulders. There is a good amount of heating reaching the upper back, right around that part of the spine that's like the hinge point between neck and back. It doesn't reach much further down than that. If you get a lot of tension between your shoulder blades, this isn't going to touch most of it, only the very upper parts. I find that trying to shift the pad back to reach those spots doesn't really work, it seems like more heat is needed to reach those deep muscles. There is a bendable wire running through the pad that allows you to mold the pad around your neck as closely or as loosely as you need, and magnets in the front flaps that let you close the pad like a cape. The pad is thick, reasonably soft, and suitably weighty, with beads sewn into the outer edges all around that help with weight and stability and probably also keep heat from radiating out through the edges. The auto shut off works consistently, so I'm not overly paranoid about leaving the thing unattended. It has 4 heat settings and I always use either level 3 or 4, the two highest settings. Level 4 is hot enough most of the time, and occasionally too hot, so I'm overall happy with the heat output - I just wouldn't exactly turn down a level 4.5. The power cable is detachable right at the pad so if you need to get up and don't want to shed your cloak, you can detach the cord instead and survive on residual heat. The detachment mechanism isn't the easiest to use, it's a squeeze type that always reminds me too emphatically about the tension in my arms and hands, but that difficulty keeps it secure all the rest of the time so what are ya gonna do. While the heating pad doesn't eliminate all tension and pain, I find that it keeps me more relaxed and it can help unlock a lot of the tightest spots on bad days. It seems to also improve my neck and shoulder mobility. I really enjoy when I've used it for a bit and I roll my head and shoulders for a quick stretch and get a bunch of pops and crackles, and suddenly my neck feels more right - like something that was in the wrong spot has finally shifted into the right spot. I have been surprised at how useful it is and it's now part of my routine for releasing pent up neck tension. It's not a cure all, but it is a good tool. My husband steals it to wrap around his arm for his wrist tension. He says it's flawless for that purpose. Bottom line, if you have neck tension, this heating pad is a solid choice. If your concerns are anywhere else, then there's a chance this won't suit you best. It's tailored for neck use and it does that well.

Thick bar makes it uncomfortable
As a cervical fusion patient I cannot tolerate a lot of things on my neck. I've been looking for a neck heating pad to help with the pain. I bought this because a reviewer said it went up high on the back of the neck which it does. However, there are 2 problems with it. First, there is a thick moldable bar between the neck and shoulder part. It's about the size of a Tootsie roll and runs across the width of the pad. It's moldable I assume so you can adjust it to how you want it around your neck. BUT, it makes it painful to lean against and forget using it in bed. The second is I couldn't discern any direct heat in the neck portion, it seemed to be referred at best. There is plenty of heat but turning it up to try to get heat into the neck makes the rest too hot. I had to return it.

Finally, some hope.
I have barely owned this thing for an hour and let me tell you...I can already tell this will hopefully solve so many of the issues I've been having. I deal with constant tension headaches and its extended into my shoulders and arms. I work a desk job, and so muscle tightness, ergonomics and posture is a constant battle. I've bought a handful of different heating pads with very marginal success for this. Even if I buy a big rectangular pad, it will not stay on me. It's more frustrating than anything else. I've been trying to find a solution that is similar enough to the heated pads that my physical therapist would put on me before my stretches. This though? It's slightly weighted with beads, so it keeps the heat against you. It contoured to the neck, so it wraps around comfortably and has a rigid structure in it to keep its shape. Though I wouldn't make a habit of constantly resting all of my weight against it just for the longevity of the product, it is one step short of those airplane pillows so its very comfortable. And its got a magnet in the front to keep it locked in place. I'm not sure how long that magnet will last being exposed to heat, I'm a little surprised its not velcro or something similar. But even if such a thing happens, it should be an easy fix. I am on the lowest setting and its very, very warm. I've had bad luck with heating pads stopping working, where they will eventually only heat in one spot because they are built and manufactured cheaply. I always have a huge worry with these things starting fires. Sunbeam's reputation I hope will make this a much longer lasting product. For my sake, I really hope this lasts because so far, it seems money very well spent. Time will tell.
