SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY AT THE DENTIST
REVIEW FOR: Dental Tools Stainless Steel Dental Pick Dental Floss Dental Hygiene Tool Set Tooth Scraper PURCHASED FROM AMAZON: NOV 2021 Imagine the look on our son's faces when they opened their own complete set of dental tools for Christmas 2021. IT WAS PRICELESS. I was able to grab some instructions off the internet about the importance of clean teeth and how to do a good job cleaning them to save on one or two dentist visits each year. That adds up especially if you have a large family. After the shocked faces finally turned into smiles, I had the chance to tell them about how many times I had ALSO used my dental tools just in the past year. I had found mine many years ago in an antique shop. I have been surprised by how many times I have used Scalers and Curettes and other tiny dental tools to clean and repair items in my home. They are also helpful for woodworking and removing that one small drip of paint that landed on the floor or on that very visible piece of trim. The dental mirror is also help for finding small screws inside equipment or other hard to reach places. If you tinker around the house or know someone who does, these dental tools can be a lifesaver in completing a project. Once you have a set of these dental tols, you WILL find jobs to use them on. Oh, and don't forget about the family dog. They need their teeth cleaned also. DEC 2025 UPDATE: I saw this old review again and thought I would add an update. I'm still using my dental tools around the house for a variety of things and I continue to find many different uses. This last challenge was to retreive a small item in a "hard-to-reach" place making the curved tips perfect for retrieving/moving small items.

needed to clean your teeth well without going to dentist
I dont recommend not going to a dentist, but this is a very cheap tool to buy and help give you an extra boost on your teeth cleaning. highly recommend having this, the case it comes with is nice and ready for travel, although you may need to check in your suitcase? Im sure security at the airport will raise some eyebrows if on carry on, but anyway, nice kit and nice storage case.

Okay in a Pinch
These are not real dental hygiene tools so don't expect to be able to dislodge hard tartar buildup. As a former hygienist, I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to keep my lower, crowded, anterior teeth freer of calculus (tartar) buildup without spending a lot on quality dental tools. These are not it, and I understand. Dental tools with sharp edges have to be sharpened correctly and the average person would easily cut and damage their gums in seconds. These are not scalers, and won't do much more than remove soft plaque if you know what you're doing. You get what you pay for. I will have to continue to buy used tools from my regular hygienist when she has to replace them. This kit is fine for picking in between teeth if food is stuck, has a handy mirror to see all your teeth and sides of your tongue (check for white patches, possibly cancer pre-cursors), a small scraper for the flat surfaces that you can see (not for going in between tight teeth to remove calculus) nor under gums a bit. If you tend to build up plaque quickly, which becomes hard calculus, the best thing to still do is brush often to remove it. You don't even need toothpaste to do that, it's the soft brush that removes the plaque and bacteria. Toothpaste just makes it tastes better!
