Quietest Fan I Never Heard
I ordered two of these units for a fairly large 900 sq ft room in our home with 15 ft ceilings. Great looking fans.... They came with both wall mounted controllers, and hand held remotes as well. I also used a separate 24" Textured Black down rod for my installation. Hanging from the beams above, this lowered the fans to a height of roughly 10 ft off the floor. I've installed more ceiling fans than I care to count, but these were a little more difficult than expected. After messing with the first one, the second one was a piece of cake. The problem was getting the remote receiver properly installed. This is usually done last, but with this one it had to be wired in first. Of course, if your not using a wireless remote, then it's an easy, straight forward installation. These fans are QUIET.... I hear nothing on the Low or Medium speeds, and when set to high speed, the only sound heard is that of the wind! They efficiently move a lot of air as well. I am more than pleased with these fans! My only complaint would be the fact that both fans currently operate on the same frequency, so one controller operates both fans. Sounds like no big deal, until you hit a button on the controller and only "one" of the fans picks up the signal. Now your fans are operating out of sync!!! You can separate them though, so that they each operate on a different frequency. Usually this is just a case of flipping a few switches on the remote and the corresponding receiver above, but not with these fans... the receiver has no switches, they have to "Learn" a frequency change. This is very convenient if your fans are operating on separate circuits, but mine are both in the same room, powered off the same breaker. Which means I have to disconnect one fan from the power source, in order to change the operating frequency of the other.... this means one of the fans must be completely disassembled and taken down to access the power wire above... Why... because the receiver installation was #1 on the priority list during installation, remember. Farg'n pain in the... Great fans overall... I have ne regrets. I would certainly by them again. I would like to get my hands on the responsible engineer though...LOL

Nice modern fan
Bought this for my primary bedroom and also got a 12" down rod for my 9' ceilings. Install was fairly easy, I watched a Youtube video since the directions were not the best. I cut the wires to size since it can accommodate a very long down rod. Wedging the remote receiver into the slot was honestly the hardest part. I really like the modern styling. I have a Thuma bed frame, and the color is a bit darker than the frame but is complementing. It does push a lot of air on high, but isn't a tornado. I sorta wished it did spin faster, but then any papers in a room would go flying. The only noise on high is a little cha-cha-cha sound from the cutting of the air, not the fan itself. The remote's light switch is wonky, where if you press to dim it will get dimmer and dimmer but once at the lowest light setting it then starts to get brighter, making it hard to pin point on the lowest light setting.

Good Looking Fan and Works Great
Of all the household items, ceiling fans seem to have innovated the least. These good looking fans provide a terrific update to the same old, same old fan. I own rental properties and have bought 4 of these over the past few years. They are beautiful and elegant and really move the air. The settings give you total control and I love them.

This fan is junk!!
Update: I have changed my stars because the company that sold this fan called me back and are just sending me another one! I do have to pay to have it reinstalled, but I think that is not too bad. What a piece of junk. Why can’t I give zero stars for this? We bought this to install in our bedroom in February, then found out we were moving. I held on to it and got it installed in July. It stopped working yesterday (and Amazon won’t do anything to help me now). The manufacturer said the capacitor was bad and will send me a new one, but who wants to pay for someone to do that?! And I can’t get ahold of the seller. So $300 for a new fan, $100 for installation, and now I get to start over…. Buyer beware on this fan!!

Quite, classy
Pros: * Whisper quite. On the fastest speed all you hear the wind moving. Not sure how they do it. * Zero wobble. * Included both remote and wall control. * I think it is classy looking. Far better than the typical fan Less than Pros: * Integration with Alexa requires another device - but works well when installed. - but you cannot control the brightness of the light, just on and off. * If you are going from two switch fan to this, it takes a bit to figure it out. But if you are comfortable with changing light switches and can look up on YouTube, then you can do it. * I opted to put in the 12" drop which helps with airflow, but with the light centered on the bottom of the fan the light is not great in the edges of the room. But it is a bedroom and I do believe it would have been much better if I had used the default 6" drop. Bottom line: My wife likes it.

Planned obsolescence (and poor customer support)
Our LED light failed in about 5 years. It would be an easy fix, if a new part is available. Minka Aire only offers the part number and you have to work with shady vendors to get an expensive replacement ($100 part/$30 shipping). They seem to want you to buy a new fan. A replacement LED can be had for maybe $20, but it takes a lot of McGyver type work to install it. It's not intended to be user-replaceable that way. This poor customer support is wasteful.

Meh! I would expect more for such a high price
It all works great except for the wall switch. The wall switches goofy and doesn’t seem to work right. Also, the directions absolutely suck!
