These packets are great for beginnings. They are hard to mess up! They are small in size, but they produce more than you would think. Tastes like you are getting movie theater popcorn. It pops quickly and comes out delicious. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a popcorn machine without all the mess!

We just LOVE this popcorn. We got introduced to it when I bought my wife a true popcorn machine (Great Norther 4oz Chaplain Popper and Cart). The popper and popcorn have been a wonderful addition to our home for the last 4 years and I have no plans to change any time soon. The simplicity of the popcorn kit packaging is great. Premeasured popcorn, salt (with butter flavor), and oil (which is solid at normal ambient room temperature make this such an easy job of making popcorn any time we want it. Turn on the kettle and let it heat up for 3-5 min. Squeeze out the oil and add the salt. I will say that if you use all the salt, it's quite a salty batch. We have found that using about half of the salt is about perfect. Wait till the oil is heated through and then add the popcorn. Pull down the kettle lid and wait. Part of the fun for us is the magic of making our own popcorn. Our kids just can't not watch the machine do the work. Now if one wants to complain that not all the kernels pop, I would argue that it's likely a combination of both the popcorn and the dimensions of your popping kettle. Do we lose some kernels? Yes (about 10%). Do I care? No. And why don't I care... The TASTE and Quantity! Even with loss of some kernels, this 4 oz package will feed 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 2) for an entire movie. Just the perfect amount for us too. As for the taste - I don't know how anyone can eat any other popcorn once they've tasted Great Northern. I simply refuse to eat the microwave popcorn that we might make because we just don't want to clean the popcorn machine after use. The secret to that amazing, delicious, and addictable popcorn taste? Coconut Oil. It seems like such a simple ingredient, but the popcorn flavor that it helps to generate is simply amazing. The price is extremely reasonable too. And when I found that you could sign up for Amazon's subscribe and save, I signed up immediately. What a way to keep our machine fully stocked with the most authentic flavored movie popcorn ready for our weekly family movie night.

Easy to make and tastes great. We use this popcorn for our food trailer. It is very easy to make, just cut the bag and add all the ingredients into the hopper. Pops quickly and is similar to movie style popcorn.

The best popcorn packets I have found. I Put the whole package in my popcorn machine and it pops almost every kernel the popcorn is light and fluffy and perfectly seasoned like movie theater popcorn, I constantly have guests telling me how delicious the popcorn is. I typically do 1 packet of popcorn per 8-10 people depending on the size of your popcorn bags. I do wish the bags had a tear tab to make opening a little easier when I dont have scissors. The packets come neatly packaged in a box and each packet has instructions on the back of the bag

A good product, but too many unpopped kernels! Way too many. That is the reason for the four-star rating, although the popcorn is delicious. I think I will go back to the Paramount brand of packets containing the popcorn, oil and salt. GREAT NORTHERN is a delicious popcorn product for those of us fortunate enough to have one of those old-fashioned popcorn popping machines. For those who LOVE popcorn, I would very strongly recommend getting one of these machines if you don't already have one. You will throw away your microwave popcorn and never buy another bag because it will taste like styrofoam compared to what you get with a proper machine, believe me. I refer to microwave popcorn as POOPCORN now! I must have my popcorn and this is exactly like the kind of movie theatre popcorn we used to get before the movie theatre concessions bought their popcorn in large plastic bags and then offered "butter-tasting" oil to drench their tasteless, overpriced popcorn in. Too lazy to make it real, too cheap to offer a good product that takes more trouble to make. I bought a Paramount popcorn machine a couple of years ago and it was one of the best purchases of my life! The ONLY way I've made popcorn that really hit all of my popcorn tastebuds and exploded them with joy! I have used the Paramount popcorn for the past couple of years and since I saw that Great Northern Popcorn packets were the most popular packets at Amazon, I thought I'd try them. Well, I've tried them. The flavor is slightly different, maybe a little more buttery than the Paramount brand, but one of the reasons I decided to try Great Northern was because of the unpopped kernels I got with the Paramount popcorn. Turns out this was not a good decision because I've found consistently that I get a lot more unpopped kernels with Great Northern than I ever got with Paramount -- go figure. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but that is my experience. As I said, the flavor is excellent with Great Northern as it is with Paramount, just slightly different. And for all those who write that the popcorn for both brands is too salty, all I can say is I am amazed at the complaint. The solution is incredibly simple: DON'T ADD ALL THE SALT IN THE SALT PACKET! It's unworthy of a complaint. It's so simple to add less salt if you want less salty popcorn, yes?! -- and you can tailor the flavor to your own preference. Although the Great Northern is definitely delicious popcorn, I will probably go back to the Paramount brand because of the excessive number of unpopped kernels.
