I used this to hold a hydraulic piston shaft in place while securing a nut on the end without scratching anything, and it worked like a charm.

I bought this to open some very difficult big metal cans with screw on tops. A pleasant surprise was that I can also use it to open my VERY difficult water filter cans. Whether it was a small top or a big top to open this thing worked very well and worth the money.

This is a pretty standard strap wrench: nothing bad about it, but it doesn't necessarily stand out either. The strap itself is a well made nylon webbing, and the handle is aluminum. Since it's not polished or painted it feels a bit rough, but that might be a good thing in the long run (I'm thinking grip despite oily or greasy hands). It's not small, so this might not be the best for removing oil filters, depending on the vehicle, but IMHO it's a good middle size. It's got the leverage for most demanding tasks but isn't too big for most tasks either. I'm happy with it.

Needed this for an older pool filter lid. Took some maneuvering, but it worked perfectly on that thin, very small surface to grab a hold of. BOOM!!!
