Still red and holding strong
Had this for several months now and use it nearly daily on a gas stovetop. No chipping of the enamel or anything like that. So very pleased it's keeping the look during use. If you let it get really hot, as in its whistling loud for over 30 seconds, yes...the handle can get hot to touch. But, based on my use, i think that is more from the flames of my gas stove coming up around the sides of the pot sometimes and heating the handle. MOST of the time, the handle works fine and is not too hot to touch.I do agree if you are trying to get the last bit of hot water out of it into a cup, you do have to practically turn it upside down to get it out and jiggle it around. This can lead to some spilled hot water. Way around that is just make sure you have more than enough water in it to start.Overall, I like this kettle. Looks nice, not a piercing whistle, handle doesn't get to hot to hold (mostly,) and seems sturdy.

Perfect kettle to replace excellent quality old one
I love this teakettle. I bought it to replace my old enameled kettle I got as a first apartment gift from my mom in 1993. I've been searching and searching for one that would match the quality of the old one, that started to chip on the bottom and get a tiny rust spot on the inside in the last year. I've looked on and off for months and finally found this one. Since I already have a couple of Circulon pots, this seemed like a good buy for the price. The other reviews that said it was a good weight also helped me decide this one may be what I'm looking for. It's perfect. The whistle sounds the same as my old one, and the weight and pour are nearly exactly the same. My old one was black, so the mustard yellow is a big change that I'm really enjoying. The lid is thick, so it's not too hot to pull off after emptying to let the interior dry after a boil, and the squeeze handle is a nice upgrade from the trigger style I had before. It's the quality I was looking for with a couple upgrades. It's a really nice, good weight, enameled inside and out teakettle that I expect I just may get another couple of decades out of.

Very pretty. A little Spitty!
This is a lovely kettle and works well with my induction stove. Only gripe I have is that if you fill it more than 16 oz. or so (still well below the spout line), it will not only whistle but also spray fine droplets of boiling water a good 7 or 8 inches across the range. So, it's a bit hazardous if you don't know to aim it carefully when using it.

Works great for me.
I really like this teakettle. It's a light orange shade, a bit lighter than pictured here. However, it works well in my white, gray and orange kitchen. The whistle is loud enough to hear throughout the house and I like the feature on the handle that opens the spout. However, the handle does get hot so I need a hot pad or towel to pick it up. I also like the 2 quart size, which is great for multiple pots of tea or plenty of boiling water. The enamel finish is quite nice and the metal seems thick enough to be very durable. I like everything about it. I highly recommend it both for the quality and the gorgeous color. It's a bright and sunny addition to my stovetop.

This is a beautiful teakettle and I highly recommend it to anyone looking ...
This is a beautiful teakettle and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a beautiful whistling kettle. Let's start by talking about the craftsmanship, between the enamel, the handle with the spout lid control, the whistle and its size, I'm not sure anyone will be disappointed. Yes the lid fits snugly, no its not a problem to taking it off. The spout is rolled perfectly so hot water doesn't run down the side (yes, I've had other kettles with rolled spouts that make hot water run down the side). It's hard to believe other manufacturers would make bad tea kettles but they do, thankfully you can count on Circulon to not be among them. Seriously, guys; I bought this for my wife and I'm pretty sure I enjoy it at least as much as she does if not more. By the way, I dare anyone to try to take my man card away for what I just said...

Safety Issues
This had the potential to be my favorite tea kettle. It has a beautiful design and is very well made. It is enameled inside and out, so there is no metallic taste in the water that I boil. The little lever that opens the spout works great. But it has some dangerous design flaws....The lid fits too tightly and is hard to get off. There is also not enough room between the lid and the handle for my hand. I have bruised my hand trying to get that lid off! But worst of all is the fact that in order to pour the boiling hot water out of the kettle, you have to hold it at a 90 degree angle. This causes the steam coming off the water to burn my hand as I hold the handle. Also, the water coming out of the spout does not come out in a steady stream, and splashes everywhere. I can't pour hot water into my tea cup without getting puddles of hot boiling water splashing all over my counter around the cup!!So...I have hurt my hand trying to use the lid, burned it with steam when trying to pour out the hot water, and been unable to keep boiling hot water from splashing everywhere whenever I pour water out of the kettle. If the kettle had functioned as well as it looks, it could have been my favorite, but since it has safety issues, I am forced to only give it only one star.

Nothing to complain about
I read a lot of reviews of teakettles before I chose this one. I hadn't realized how much there was to dislike about teakettles -- but it seemed like very few choices got a majority of positive reviews. This one is working fine - it whistles, it boils water, the handle doesn't get too hot, it doesn't drip when you pour, and the finish seems to be staying intact (I've only had it a month). So as far as I'm concerned, it's a good teakettle. The color is a wonderful bright yellow-y-orange that matches my Mexican tile perfectly too.
