The Aiper S2 Solar Pool Skimmer has been an excellent cleaning aid for our pool, effectively cleaning the surface of the pool preventing the need for collecting debris from settling to the bottom. The solar panel works extremely well, virtually eliminating the need to manually recharge the unit. The skimmer is effective when running in the ECO mode or continually and has been very effective in picking up various types of debris and is simple to empty the collection basket when necessary. The unit is well made and is certainly an excellent value for the benefits derived from its usefulness. The support from the Aiper team has also been superb. They are very customer oriented in being responsive to any issues or concerns. They genuinely want to make sure we are pleased with their product and service. I would highly recommend the Surfer S2 Skimmer.

I titled my review as is because I’ve had a great experience with the Surfer S2. We also own one of the in-pool under water AIPER robotic cleaners, and after using several other brands over the years, I can honestly say AIPER has been the best, the “Rolls Royce” compared to the others we’ve tried. Not in just their products but their customer service rocks, first hand experience when I called them, problem solved record time, not at all complicated, just all outright really GREAT customer service. What really stands out is reliability. Our in-pool Aiper cleaner doesn’t get stuck on the drains like other models we’ve owned, and even if it momentarily catches, it quickly frees itself without me having to grab a pool pole and intervene. The Surfer S2 has also been outstanding, it keeps the surface of our pool impressively clean, which is huge for us since we constantly deal with pine needles finding their way into the water. The solar panel design is also excellent. We get plenty of sun here in Southern California, and the battery has never run low, it just keeps going & going & going like the Energizer Bunny. Overall, I’m extremely happy with both AIPER products and will definitely recommend them to others. My hopes are that this review made you make your mind up on which Manufacture/Brand to go with. After one summer of use, I can say that our Surfer S2 has been great. It did a good job of skimming the surface of our pool and keeping the surface clean. We found that it worked best to just leave it running 24/7, especially during times when blooms or other debris from our trees was actively coming down. It was a game changer from having to use a net all the time. It also helped reduce the amount of debris in the pool skimmer baskets. I also really like how it charges itself via the sun. This makes it almost care free. Never had to charge it all summer. It ran through the night and recharged itself during the day while running. There was only 1 problem. There is a spinning reel at the front of the unit that pulls material into it's hopper. This reel is supported by little ball bearings. One bearing completely failed on our original S2, causing the reel to freeze up. Aiper sent us a replacement S2. Never had any problems after that. Suspect it was just a bad bearing from the beginning. Really nice that they stand behind their product.

We live in Connecticut, so our pool season is rather short. And we have a lot of large trees on our property and nearby neighbors. Keeping the pool surface clean can be a challenge at certain times of the summer, even though our pool has two skimmers. Husband sent me a link to this product and I thought we would give it a try. We could not be happier! Our pool gets great sun, so we did not have to manually charge this all season. Sun did all the work. We are also amazed how well this works. I work from home, and some days I feel like I could be out there every 15 minutes skimming leaves and stuff not getting picked up by our skimmers. The Surfer S2 handled all that for me, and so nice to step outside and see a clean pool surface. It is relatively easy to clean. I would highly recommend. We have a few friends who have purchased based on our recommendation and they too love it. We liked the Surfer S2 so much that we purchased the Scuba vacuum as well. It too works nicely, but a little less convenient as it requires charging after each use. I guess hard to solar charge something that spends all its time at the bottom of your pool. I will leave a separate review on that. AIPER Support has been great as well, responding quicky to questions and proactively reached out asking for feedback on their products. I honestly cannot recommend this product enough.

Overall, I have really liked the Surfer S2 and it has done a good job cleaning the surface of the pool with relatively low maintenance. The basket holds a lot and I only have to empty it once a week. The extendable legs are great to prevent it from getting stuck when the pool water level changes. I liked the software upgrades that have brought about new features as well such as intermittent cleaning. My main concern with the Surfer S2 is that I've had to send it in twice to be repaired within the first year. Turnaround for warranty work has been relatively quick (I've gotten it back within 2 weeks each time) and they have fixed the issue each time. I am worried about it's long term durability and the cost of repairs once it is out of warranty, hence why it lost a star.

In use: I have tested this unit for the past 2 months without any hiccups. It has been consistently good and does it's job with minimal effort. I have tested in in my own above ground circular pool and my sisters in ground rectangular pool. It performed great in both circumstances. Offering the same level of leaning power. For all the good there was a handful of times that the robot got confused on my sisters regular stairs. After turning it off then back on it worked fine after recalibration. Since this is a battery operated machine it takes it's time and might be a bit slow for some users. Cleaning my sisters 28L buy 10W foot pool took almost 1h50mins. This included the walls and surface. In my modest 24 foot above ground pool it took 1hour. Witch is pretty good especially considering, I only had to empty the basket once. In the fall it needed more frequent emptying around 2 to 3 times per use. Since I have many trees on my property. . The unit also charges in the sun offering a constant cleaning solution with even less fuss. This is especially true if you have no trees in you're yard. Yet with the constant shade my unit needed to be topped up at the end of a hard days work. Final thoughts: If you are looking for the robot that could. I received it earlier in the Summer, and it's done a fantastic job throughout, but in the fall is where I'm really reaping the benefits. My neighbour has some deciduous trees, and it's one the the earliest to drop it's leaves. We have still had some really warm days so I'm hesitant to close the pool. This Beast has been great at scooping the surface garbage before it goes underwater. The sun isn't as strong as in the height of summer, but the panel gets enough to keep it going. The skimmer is relatively easy to handle and scoop out of the pool. Emptying the filter is also easy. I don't use the Bluetooth, and it does a great job getting around the pool and hitting all the spots.

This thing keeps my pool so clean with barely any effort. It runs quietly, charges on its own, and the app support makes it easy to monitor. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but I do.

I’ve only ever used another brand of premium pool cleaning robots, but am pleasantly impressed with the quality of this unit. It’s very light and works very well even in tight spaces. The unit is very easy to clean and I am very happy with the Aiper brand. The app was easy to setup and we have had no issues with this unit so far. Very good value for the price.
