ClonerAlliance UHD Pro Max, Cinematic-FPS 4K@24fps (Max 30) Video Recorder with H.265/H.264 Codec, 4K@60fps Passthrough HDMI Capture DVR.

I needed a device to record video from the HDMI video output of an old MiniDV camera. This Sony 1broadcast quality camera (1080p) no longer recorded on its built-in MiniDV tape. In a search on Amazon I found the ClonerAlliance ProMax video recorder and it's the best new device since sliced bread. It records from any HDMI source, such as your computer, HDMI camera, cable box along with full audio. It's capable of recording and playing back video up to 4k (2160p). It also has pass-thru HDMI so the recording/playback process can be easily monitored. A remote controller comes with it. It can also record audio thru an analog input, mic or line level and in stereo Whoever designed this unit thought of everything as it not only records on your TF memory chip but also on your external HDD or SSD through a USB port. It has excellent file management and your videos are easily transferable to your computer for editing or viewing on your TV. It takes up very little space in your work space or TV room shelf. Gamers will love this unit as it can record and play back long-running galactic sessions externally up to 8Tb. I am absolutely delighted with this recorder because there is so much that it can do and it does it flawlessly. When you first turn it on give the power button a long press. Incidentally, I am not paid to write this nor did I get one free.

Great item. One button recording as advertised in HD quality straight to USB drive. Been doing this over 20 years and this device is about the simplest to utilize i've ever used.

-4k recording is only at max 30 FPS or 24 FPS. 1080P at 60 FPS. No 2k or 1440p option. -It micro stutters using 4K 30FPS using MP4 format. TS format works really well though just takes more space. -Passthrough only works with unit on. -No power button on remote so you have to get up to turn it on. -Unit gets really warm even at idle and the USB stick gets really warm when recording. Website says this is not a issue though. I just don't want to leave it on due to the heat it puts off. Having to turn it off and on is one more thing to do which is inconvenient. -HDCP content does NOT seem to be a issue as I have seen on some you tube videos. It records Netflix, Live ESPN sports, Disney+ without complaint. Also you must be on the channel you want to record even with scheduled recordings!! Its really just screen capture device and scheduling recordings works great. Captures whatever is on the screen by date and time. Overall its a nice unit and good to have when you can not record using utube TV library or other means or recording content. It a good backup for these scenarios.

This new CloverAliance UHD pro Max will not play any previous MP4 videos as recorded on the older ClonerAliance DVR. I reached out to customer service and they will not reply with a solution so I returned it for a refund. The instructions say switch from H265 to H264 but it still will not play my 100 previous recorded MP4 movies. Please read my other reviews.

I am sure there are many people that have good luck with these and for the most part I think they’re fine, unfortunately I have a problem that I just can’t stop, this thing skips frames, so much that sometimes it’s not enjoyable. I’ve tried everything I could find on Google and on corners website but nothing works. I’ve got a fairly fast Internet. I purchased fast memory sticks. I’ve got all short 8K cables and an excellent receiver. I’m sure this thing can work fine, just not for me and I’ve wasted a lot of money. The other thing is the remote control needs to be pointed directly at the cloner or you could not stop in time or pause exactly when needed. If I wasn’t past the return point, I’d send it back.

Records everything I can throw at it. 4K recording is OK. Major negative is it will only record AAC 2.0 audio. Surround sound not supported.

Would be nice to have a space bar when renaming videos! The titles are coming out one big word!

Davvero ottima soluzione digitale ai vecchi PVR (Personal Video Recorder/videoregistratori a cassette). ATTENZIONE: proveniendo da AMAZON UK, l'alimentatore ha la spina UK e non EU, per cui occorre mettere in conto anche l'acquisto di un adattatore UK-IT o UK-DE (SHUKO); controllate per scrupolo da dove viene spedito e se prevede l'opzione per l'alimentatore EU direttamente (in questo caso l'unico Fornitore, AMAZON UK, non lo prevedeva). Utilizzo intuitivo, è possibile impostare i menù in italiano, dotato di un discreto menù per schedulare le registrazioni (singolo evento, giornaliere, settimanali). E non costa molto di più un buon vecchio videoregistratore... (ma senza l'incomodo delle cassette...). Collegabile anche a PC, tramite USB 3.0, software di gestione in dotazione (scaricabile dal sito al momento della registrazione del prodotto, per il supporto in garanzia e fuori garanzia).

It records effortlessly. Make sure to disable REC display, otherwise you’ll see dark shadows at the top of the screen. I contacted ClonerAlliance, and they told me they’re working on a firmware update to fix the issue.

Die beste Capture Box die ich bisher hatte. Mit der Box kann man wirklich von jedem Gerät in super Qualität aufnehmen. Sie hat zwar einen stolzen Preis aber dessen was sie kann, würde ich sie sofort wieder kaufen.

This product performs an almost unique function and is in a class of its own. So a comparative review against peers is not possible. I'm delighted to be able to record 4k streamed media and playback same in great quality. I particularly like the 30sec, countdown before scheduled recording starts. There are however a couple of minor annoying shortcomings which I expect will be addressed in future releases. 1. There is no remote power down function. 2. The hybrid log gamma function of HDR doesn't appear to be passed through. However having said this I think it's a great bit of kit which opens the door to ad free viewing without having to pay a premium for it.
