So far, so good. Had a broken receiver and some old retro floor speakers. Decided to just go back to 2.1 and make use of my subwoofer from a previous system. The Aiyima A80 is probably one of the coolest 2.1 Amps that I have ever used. YES, she will run warm to the touch. I will be testing he thoroughly within the warranty and return period. My biggest fear is that the unit dies from heat or that it begins to have issues like self protection auto shutdowns and such. I will be running her roughly around 240watts as much as I can to see if she is worth it. So far, I love it! Good power even with the supplied GaN psu. easy to understand interface and easily connects to all types of things. simple, effective, so far, not as hot as people say she is. Just warm to the touch is all.

I’ve been using the Aiyima A80 for about a week now, and I’m really happy with it. I was looking for an all-in-one amp with good sound quality and enough input options to connect to multiple sources, and this one checked all the boxes. I’m not an audiophile, but I can definitely hear the difference compared to the small amp I was using before. A really outstanding little unit. The sound quality is amazing. There is plenty of power for my vintage Klipsch speakers and there are inputs for just about anything you need to connect! I use it for my CD player, Bluetooth streaming from my computer and phone, my turntable, and my TV! All this in a solid little aluminum box! The VU meters add that extra touch of cool! Some have said it runs a bit hot, but I haven’t experienced that. Gets slightly warm, but nothing I’d be concerned about. Excellent quality. I’m very happy!

I bought this because it uses the excellent TI chip in a class D design, and because it has a built in DAC. That enabled an immediate improvement feeding it from my laptop's USB rather than the laptop audio output. It's got plenty of power for a bookshelf speaker set. I'm impressed by the improved clarity of voice in the presence of competing noise. The treble and bass controls have a lot of range, which I like. Internally it uses the well reviewed NE5532P op amps, but these can be upgraded (eg Sparkos 3602) to improve THD. Overall, I think it is impressively good in this price range.

I have both an Aiyima T9 and T9 Pro which I have used in two separate systems. In general, they left me with a positive impression of the brand, especially for the amount of functionality they incorporate in a small, affordable, box. You got a respectable DAC, adequate power, a tube buffer, preamp capability, and a reasonable amount of power. I more recently was looking over the A80 as perhaps an evolutionary improvement in the brand's offering and ordered one to give it a try. Before I go further into my impression of the A80, it should be noted that I tried it out on a challenging pair of 83db efficient 4 ohm speakers. As such, a robust high current amplifier is required. The A80 did not meet this challenge, calling in to question an inflated power delivery capability. In fact, that is my largest complaint with many of the lower cost amplifiers available on Amazon, i.e. , that the power claims don't add up to what's advertised. The A80 description claims 300 watts per channel but I don't believe that's even possible with the power supply included. When I tried to bring my speakers up to my normal listening level, which is in the realm of 75-80db for me, I started to hear clipping, evidence that the A80 could not drive the paired speakers. It also seemed that Aiyima put a lot of their effort into the user interface, at the expense of refining the amplifier itself. At that point, I went no further and began the refund request process (which Amazon makes very quick and easy). However, while this was not the right amplifier for me, it may work well for others, particularly with 8 ohm, 90 db or higher efficient, bookshelf speakers. Aiyima products are generally well regarded and I don't want to misrepresent the brand to others. Again, it just wasn't appropriate for my situation. With the rationale, that's why I am giving it 3 stars, as a product that may work in a more common use case but one that did not deliver according to the power rating as described..

Performance and sound are great considering the very small, daresay portable, footprint. The tiny micro-case is cramped so the inputs and connections are limiting. There are no front inputs. Input selection is complicated with 1 "push and turn" control. The remote control is also minimal. (I need more buttons to control the features and input selection) The color display is small. This can be the perfect application for people that desire unassuming, space-saving, location flexibility. My review was updated after I considered the value/performance/price ratio.
