I just purchased my second one of these! The first stayed up nearly constantly for two years on my apartment balcony. Finally had to get rid of it when a storm I could be there for tore it up. It's pretty sturdy and can take more wind that you'd think. Very easy to retract and keep safe. Makes a MASSIVE difference on the temp inside my apartment in the summer.

With 3 windows facing the West, it gets really hot. (In the first photo) the awning is folded up all the way when not in use, it isn't an eye sore and you can hardly notice it. (Second photo) it's a little under half way down, just for the photo. (Third photo) is the awning fully down to cover the windows from the hot sun. Just wanted to show there are many positions to fit your needs. The final two photos show the incredible temperature difference the awning makes in our home! 20 degrees! Everything else is also there, color, size, quality, rain protection, sturdiness and price. Hands down a great buy.

We put up one, it was to hot out to be in the sun for any longer. I like the shade. We put it over a window that gets the afternoon sun. It's keeping it a bit cooler. Right now I'm happy. I wish there was more of a choice of colors. I'm not a gray person.

Ignore the bad reviews. This is a good awning for its price and also its renter friendly. Also regarding to the instructions - it’s pretty simple to follow because they literally provide pictures. If you guys want something better, spend the money for it. This is a cheap awning for its price. It’s not perfect. But it’s a great value for its money. One thing I do wish was the horizontal 47” rods that hold up the awning could have been longer or at least extendable. I adjusted the rods higher so my awning sits at more less slope but the downside to that is I probably lose 2-5in of awning that’s rolls back into place. Overall 5 stars. The price is perfect. Ignore the bad reviews.

Do not buy this product! The weight and length have no middle support and this crap caved in within 3 weeks! Instructions are horrible! It needs a support arm in the middle of sorts. And I can’t get my money back unless I disassemble and pay for a new box, take time and ship it back. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY!

Cheap! Flimsy! Just OK. Instructions are OK, maybe make pics a little bigger. Materials are cheap! Hardware is all over the place. Rubber feet at each end don’t stay in place. Drilled holes aren't smooth and you will get cut — be careful! Vertical side poles have too much play and don’t keep a straight line. Long pole held by tiny screws will become wobbly by the time you assemble the entire thing, worried it’s too heavy and would break in half —probably the most disappointing thing of all. OK for what you paid for, OK quality too, but this thing needs to be sturdier or it’ll fall on people’s heads! I installed it myself in a couple of hours, but I highly recommend you have someone help you. I would not buy this again!

Love it. Complicated to assemble but after it assembled it is a great product. Love it. My backyard looks great. I would suggest to have it in bright colors.

This is a 5 star item. Durable, and easy to assemble. It says 2 people suggested, but the 2nd person will only hold up a pole for a few minutes. Could be a 10 year old. No text instructions, but pretty clear pictograms. Parts are labeled and easily identified. Note: Unless mechanically secured, a good breeze brings it down. I used a 1/2inch general purpose screw in each plastic foot (top & bottom). It has stood through 2 pretty good storms, one of which brought down trees and power lines. I could not be more pleased unless it was free.
