Whether flat on my back or sideways, this pillow is designed to work either way without manipulating or adjusting it to allow you to sleep. Breathing was easy either way. I know from the old pillow that if I slept on my back, my airway was constricted, and when I woke, I felt groggy, and it took several hours to fully wake up. When I wake up on my back, I feel fully rested and ready to move. I love my pillow. I've been using it for a few months and it is really helpful for someone with a tear in their shoulder. It took me a little time to get used to it but it does what it needs to do in supporting me comfortably. I do use a regular pillow underneath so I am not laying flat after some healing time. I recommend this for anyone that has difficulty sleeping with pain. I didn't give it 5 stars because after several hours of laying on it, I find I'm sweating. But I say give it a try.

Comfortable

I wanted and needed this to be my solution, alas not to be. It is far too heavy to move around under my head at night. The height is wrong to align with my head and spine. I returned it and searched for a better solution. It expands so it needs another very large strong box to return it. Not a happy purchas.

It's ok. It's a good pillow but not a great as advertised

I have neck problems and so a PT told me to get this pillow. It was a waist of money, IMO it is not comfortable and provided no relief for my neck.
